  1. "If my vehicle is nine years and 364 days old on the day of service, will a Lexus warranty contract be activated and will it expire the next day? A full contract will be activated every time an eligible vehicle undergoes a qualifying service. In this example the vehicle will be covered until one day before the 11th anniversary of its first date of registration." https://mag.lexus.co.uk/Lexus-warranty-how-it-works/
  2. I imagine they will be pretty thin on the ground in Chile and Peru as well.
  3. I don't think Lexus ever offered a manufacturer's 5yr warranty in the UK (Toyota did) The 10yr 100k miles warranty no offered is conditional on being serviced annually by Lexus
  4. Leaving it on will not cause any problems surely? Unless the unit detects a wirelessly rechargeable device it won't operate? Looking through the owner's handbook, there doesn't appear to be any button to switch it off, only operation condition indicators on the tray side and the multimedia screen. What it does say in the handbook (page 345) is - "Do not use the charging tray as a small storage space" https://d24bc9lyrt5en5.cloudfront.net/Customer-Portal-Admin/emanuals/LEXUS/OM33G50E.pdf
  5. The car of real interest IMHO is the Toyota GR Yaris H2, being a hydrogen fuelled ICE
  6. Mmm.. Not sure on this as today's trips are shown in the app but the phone has not been within bluetooth range of the car and the car wifi option is off? I was assuming it can only connect with the web via my phone but an embedded sim, or the wifi hotspot unit must be active?
  7. I wondered this also as today I left my phone at home but the trips to and from work have been recorded in the app. I have a wifi hotspot unit fitted but according to the Connected services it doesn't have an active data plan. So I'm guessing there is either an 'always active' SIM elsewhere or the one in the wifi hotspot is connected for these services only (how would it (they) know? Perversely, even when my phone is with me in the car there are occasions when the same trips trips that don't get recorded! Must be cell coverage drop outs?
  8. Once you have a diagnosis and estimated cost of repair from Lexus you can perhaps explore alternatives, such as repairs from an auto-electrician but until you know what's wrong and have a benchmark cost it's all guesswork...
  9. If this was a trade sale, take it back to the dealer and get them to sort it. If a private sale, perhaps a local auto-electrician can help. Failing that take it to a Lexus dealership or independent and get the error codes read
  10. Perhaps the first question is what is your budget?

  12. It was just an offer and if you're not interested, politely decline and forget it. The dealer is just doing his job of trying to maximise profits
  13. If you don't physically open a door does the car lock itself again after ~20sec?
  14. No idea but being Lexus it wont be cheap.. Best get someone to scan the car using TechStream and see if anything is logged, or perhaps a good auto-electrician to have a look before forking out on parts
  15. @Nick0 I downloaded this manual from the Lexus website, seems to cover the two types of wiper operation. Look from page 241 https://d24bc9lyrt5en5.cloudfront.net/Customer-Portal-Admin/emanuals/LEXUS/OM76067E.pdf
  16. Mine beeps even if the sat nav isn't showing/active i.e. screen showing the audio selection. Speed camera alert is always active when phone connected
  17. In my RC one could switch between rain sensing operation or simple variable speed wipers. Your hand book will detail how this works, if applicable to your model. The rotating part will adjust the sensitivity in rain sensing mode and frequency in variable speed mode. Adjusting the sensitivity may not change anything immediately depending on the rainfall rate. Top speed in EV mode will depend on many different things. Battery charge level, battery temperature, acceleration rate and load.
  18. If this is the unit, quite interesting... https://telematics.avmap.it/en/telematics/4dblackbox_immobilizer
  19. Fogging or slight condensation in the headlamps is fairly common and as long as it dissipates after the lights have been on a while it shouldn't be a problem. If it's quite heavy condensation or you are particularly worried check the back of the headlamps and make sure the access ports are properly closed.
