    A friend on the MB forum had his AMG stolen by thieves smashing in his front door and threatening him and his wife to hand over the keys. If they can steal the car from the driveway using a laptop and intercepting the keyless signal, without entering the house, I know which I prefer ... It's only a car

    Exactly as it states in the handbook. What it doesn't say in the handbook is that the fob transmits continuously, only that it won't receive when disabled. I'm guessing the reception of a signal stimulates a response which is what the thieves then intercept? The fob has to be within approx 2m of the car for the system to function?

    I'm not sure it does. This is a battery saving function. It stops the key fob receiving radio signals, so one must presume the car is still transmitting those radio signals. It's those signals that the thieves intercept

    My dealership had someone come in to prep and apply the Williams coating. They also do smart repairs and reapply the coating should it be required. I think I'm happier for this to be through Lexus than directly with a 3rd party., even though Lexus themselves are not doing the work, Lexus will carry the responsibility for future care and maintenance.

    I had the Williams ceramic coating applied to my new RC. This has a lifetime warranty and is managed through Lexus. So if anything were to require attention they will sort it. So far, 11 months into ownership it's performing fantastically well, very easy to maintain. I'd recommend it but not sure if they would treat a used car, can't see why not but the costs may be significantly higher.

    I had mine ceramic coated, works brilliantly, crud just hoses off. To enhance the already deep gloss I also use Meg's Xpress spray wax, applied to the wet car it help drying without water spots and gives a really slick feel to the paint, something the ceramic coating just lacks. I second the suggestion of mud flaps. They really do protect against splatter.

    Yes and no ... I absolutely loved the savage power from that supercharged V8 but had I gone for the RCF I'd have been back with the frustration of driving a powerful car but unable to fully enjoy/exploit that power. I have no self control....

    I to checked out a fantastic red LC500 today at the dealership, fantastic outside but the interior was the the Black Hole definitely needs a lighter trim.

    Nearly a year into ownership of my RC and still loving every moment of every drive. Great colour combo. My good lady insisted on red for ours. I think the red and the blue give the greatest depth of colour and the gloss is fantastic. I hope you'll enjoy the car as much as I do, I'm certain you will
