  1. Things have moved on a bit since this. 1970s cars just disintegrate!
  2. Not a fan of these types of exhaust TBH. On competition cars, sure. Road cars, nah! P.S Shouldn't this thread be in the RC-F forum?
  3. Updated Lexus RC F to Offer More Power, Cosmetic Refresh https://www.clublexus.com/articles/updated-lexus-rc-f-offer-power-cosmetic-refresh/
  4. Insurance companies share data and claims info, so even if you don't declare but the other party do, you insurer is likely to be aware come renewal time
  5. I'd assume nothing, in my experience tyre fitters know little about the banding and care even less...
  6. Long gentle braking is good in the hybrid as it recharges the battery, using regen tech and not the discs and pads.
  7. Cars fitted with dash cams always seem to be involved in some sort of road rage or RTA, I'm steering well clear and not fitting one in my car!
  8. The new tyres may well have excessive run-out. Try swapping the tyres side to side and see if that changes it. Few if any tyre tech check and match the colour banding on new tyres.
  9. The Bridgestones supplied with my new RC are quiet on smooth tarmac and they sing when on the rough cement surfaces (A30/A419) but they no worse than any other tyre I've experienced and a lot better than most. Tramlining is virtually non-existent, only on the heavily rutted motorways do they tug on the steering. I'm unsure no whether to replace with the same or go for my favourite Michelins. Still a way off that though so we'll see over the coming miles...
  10. LOL ... My mind is on the bread I have currently in the oven, Mmmmm
  11. Actually thinking more on this, it would be the electronically controlled baking system that holds the car on a slope by locking the brakes on. One of the advantages of having a brake system pressurised by an electric pump rather than the normal vacuum servo assisted systems.
  12. Presumably It uses the electric motor. From the handbook Operating conditions of hill-start assist control When the following four conditions are met, the hill-start assist control will operate: ● The shift lever is in a position other than P or N (when starting off forward/backward on an upward incline). ● The vehicle is stopped. ● The accelerator pedal is not depressed. ● The parking brake is not engaged. ■ Automatic system cancelation of hill-start assist control The hill-start assist control will turn off in any of the following situations: ● The shift lever is moved to P or N. ● The accelerator pedal is depressed. ● The parking brake is engaged. ● Approximately 2 seconds elapse after the brake pedal is released
  13. No, my car will hold on a hill without the engine starting. The hill start assist function holds the car for a maximum of 2sec after the brake pedal is released, seems longer though.
  14. My handbook states that without traction battery power the car will not move, it cannot function on petrol only.
  15. Another good on, in which the presenter mentions the clutch damper assembly that mounts between the power split device and the engine. So to answer the OP's question, there is a clutch assembly that takes up the drive from the engine
  16. Pretty good video here
  17. Not a fan of the 'stuck on' iPad type screen. One of the reasons I moved away from Mercedes. Now, Audi's virtual cockpit ...
  18. With good reason IMHO
  19. Where have you heard of this 'hardcore' RCF? References, links?
  20. More info here? https://lexuscarqe.com/2018-lexus-rc-f-release-date-price/
  21. I'm guessing it's similar to the AIRmatic system on Mercs and would expect the system needs to be cleared of errors and re-calibrated for ride height, using Techstream
  22. To be honest, if I could find a product that enhanced the gloss and shine but caused sheeting rather than beading I'd definitely give it a go. At least the car would dry quickly and wouldn't leave water marks when it finally does dries. The difference between a hydrophobic and hydrophilic surface.... After all beading isn't an end in itself, simply an indicator of a well waxed surface and therefore protected surface..
