  1. I don't think it's a factory fixed angle but driver adjustable, I can adjust the angle of the drop for each mirror, which is then memorised, should be shown in your handbook?
  2. Evolving "driving dynamics" (whatever that means) all well and good but look at the one car all the journos rave about, the Mazda MX5. Over it's 4 generations it has bucked the trends and almost reverted to it's genesis. All agree it's the most 'pure' driver's car out there. Horses for courses, no car can fulfill every aspect of a driver's desire.
  3. I believe it's as much the number of starts that matter, not just the number of running hours. The types of journeys, average speed all come into play. A car covering just 5k miles a year in short stop-start journeys probably has as much 'wear' as a 20k mile per year motorway muncher.
  4. I can thoroughly recommend Tony Bones at Wheels-in-Motion if you want to get the geometry set up properly. Bit of a drive but well worth the effort. The guys there set up the coil-overs on my Merc and sorted the typical Mercedes left drift before that. Top guys..
  5. Harsh cornering can also promote edge wear on front tyres
  6. No car manufacturer makes their own pads or discs but they do set and control the quality of those parts. Buying pads/discs of the same specification from the the OEM does not mean they will be the same quality as OE. Personally I think unless one has requirements beyond normal use, i.e. track use, sticking with dealer supplied parts is the preferable option.
  7. The only thing I hear when stationary is the a/c fan.
  8. I had my RC coated, also from Lexus Swindon. On the occasions I've been back I have also spotted an independent detailer there treating cars. I am very impressed with the coating, very, very easy to rinse off general road crud, especially over the winter months. I am also somewhat OCD about keeping the car clean, much to the amusement of my neighbours .... Now almost at my 1st anniversary, the coating still performs as below. Should it change, we have a lifetime warranty, so it would be retreated FOC. Win, win
  9. Vibrations felt through the seat and floor but not the steering wheel is often down to poor rear wheel balance, possibly a slightly buckled rim.
  10. I suspect the tech didn't clean the disc/hub interface properly when fitting the new discs.
  11. My understanding is that if one exports the vehicle one has to fit RHD headlamp units. Not simply adjust them?
  12. Was this fogging never used to happen, I'd double check the fitting of the new screen. Having the a/c on permanently will help as the incoming air will be dehumidified.
  13. No, it won't be the new windscreen but quite possibly the way it has been fitted, that is, poorly... Check the screen surrounds for gaps/dampness.
  14. Warm blanket, thermos, Kendal mint cake
  15. I must correct myself, this year's renewal is £286 up from £265 last year. All the i's dotted and t's crossed. Not sure where I got the £326 from, must get these glasses checked....
  16. Mmm. I read that as meaning your car is covered, not that you are covered to drive a different vehicle? The section is dealing with who uses your car. "We will not cover any injury, loss, damage or liability whilst your car is being..... This exception does not apply if your car is ..."
  17. Where does it state in that extract your wife can drive a courtesy car under her own insurance?
  18. From the handbook - Some function settings are changed simultaneously with other functions being customized. Contact any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional. Settings that can be changed using the Remote Touch or Lexus Display Audio controller Settings that can be changed using the meter control switches Settings that can be changed by any authorized Lexus dealer or repairer, or another duly qualified and equipped professional Techstream uses the OBDII port as does Carista, Carista mimics the Techstream commands. All windows open/close via the remote fob is option 3 above
  19. You could always try doing it yourself, using Carista?
  20. Not sure if this applies to your model year but with engine running press and hold the audio on button to force a reset?
