  1. A couple more .. https://lexusboutique.net/collections/rc-f-2015-2017 http://trdparts.jp/english/lexus/rc.html
  2. Great colour combo I'm sure you'll love your time in the driver's seat, even when parked up! Now a year into my RC ownership and am still amused by all the looks the car still gets. Often stopped in car parks and asked about the car. Even the Ol' Bill seem fascinated by it, following me quite regularly (strange how it makes me feel nervous....) Mine's Sonic Red with Clove leather.
  3. According to the CT owner's handbook the factory fitted sensors are only in the corners, so front coverage is as designed, only at the corners. Any position marks on your bumper? It may be you would require a different pattern bumper, depending what's behind those corners?
  4. Vehicle Stability Control - a form of traction control
  5. You could try the guys at Unique Car Sound & Security based in Light.w.a.t.e.r in Surrey. They do retrofits both official and non OEM. I've used them numerous times on my Mercedes, excellent service.
  6. Pretty much the only thing I can hear is the whine from the straight cut gears!
  7. Classic target for a container to the African continent ....
  8. My understanding with keyless go is the car will run normally until the ignition is cycled. Once switched off the engine will not restart but by then the thieves could be 100s of miles away.
  9. A bit of science.. "By the way, science and radio engineering tells us that if you want to make your own Faraday cage, you want to use a highly conductive metal, like copper or aluminum (but not anodized aluminum). If you use a mesh, make sure the holes are smaller than 1/10 the wavelength of the signal. In North America and Japan, car remotes transmit at 315 megahertz, which is a wavelength of about .95 meters, so a mesh with holes smaller than 9.5 centimeters should work. Other countries use key fobs that work at 433.92 MHz, for a wavelength of .69 meters, so holes under 7cm are what you’re looking for. Those are pretty big holes. In our mesh box they were a lot smaller. And the one thing you must do when making a Faraday enclosure for your key is to make sure the box closes. Otherwise, the radio signal will get in, and the relay exploit could still work. Science notwithstanding, our experience tells us your best protection against the relay attack is to line a box with aluminum foil. It’s more reliable, even though a nice mesh box probably works well enough and certainly looks cooler." https://makezine.com/2015/08/14/block-car-door-relay-hack-faraday-cage/ My first box had a neat plastic insert to hold the key but this insert was suspended by the rim of the lower box, so when the box lid cam down there was a rim of plastic visible. This, surprisingly, allowed the signals to get out and the car door could be opened. Next box had a overlapping lid, so when closed there was no gap. Standing next to the car, key in box, didn't allow me to open the door.
  10. More than the number of times per day I look at Mrs NemesisUK ..
  11. Not only a pain but also illegal... What are you comparing it with?
  12. Should look ok, once they get some paint on it....
  13. Better in what way?
  14. Anything's better than the usual monochrome offerings...
  15. I'd have the LC500 in yellow with red interior, please, thank you
  16. Just checked my handbook and it states "When the outside temperature falls to nearly 0°C (32°F) The dehumidification function may not operate even when is pressed or “A/C” is selected."
  17. I believe the a/c chiller shuts off at temps below approx 5c so no dehumidification if it's really cold outside?
  18. If the thief can read the fob to gain entry he can also start the car (with KeylessGo). The recently well advertised video from the Police shows the thieves using a relay box next to the car and a high gain antenna to pick up the keyless signal from the fob. The signal, relayed to the box next to the car tricks the car into thinking the fob is present and so opens and will start. Obviously once driven away the thieves can't restart the car once the IGN is switched off but by then they are miles away.. I simply place my keylessGo fob in a tin box when home. This blocks the signals.
  19. Who in their right mind would do that!!
  20. I had the same with mine, just two days into ownership. Just needed a reset, 5min job for the dealer. No explanation. Been fine ever since
  21. My first thoughts are no. You are basically using a 12v battery to charge another 12v battery through a convertor that will have losses. At best the batteries will equalise? The Ctek needs an "unlimited" electrical supply to push energy into the depleted battery.
  22. That sounds like a 1950's motorcycle ....
  23. Your new RC has suffered a flat battery after only a week parked? Surely this must be because of an unusual drain somewhere? The 12v battery only monitors the entry system and powers up the computers for the hybrid traction battery to take over all the running functions. Are you going to get this looked into? I was hoping, ney, expecting my RC to happily stand for many days without issue. unlike my CLS55 which barely survived 3 days... (and why I also have an MXS5, very good kit)
  24. What's this 'Professional' nav option? I thought the OP was talking about the standard and Premium nav options? You need to check the "Average Speed" settings in the Nav set-up menu
