  1. A car, any car, is only as fast as the driver behind the wheel. ... Official performance figures are always more reliable than anecdotal 'on the road' experiences
  2. A lot of Police activity around here as well. But I'm a good boy in my battery car ..... Doesn't stop them from shadowing me along the dual carriageway though!
  3. All you know is the IS250 is as fast as that young lad was driving this afternoon. I'd put more credence on the official figures myself. Why would Lexus understate the performance?
  4. Just got in, drive back not as traffic free as the drive up. Great drive though, apart from the hooligan RC/IS element on the roads.... Great to meet up with old faces, oh, and Ratty.. Some new folks as well, a great turnout. The most I've seen so far. @Comedian, Sean, nice to put a face to the name.. @Flytvr, Dav thanks for organising another successful event (full english was well up to standard ). Hope you enjoyed the drive back in your lovely new RC-F, great car (can I have your seats please?), the carbon sets it off really well. 'Til next time, looking forward to it already.
  5. Be careful with fitting high Kelvin lamps. https://www.powerbulbs.com/blog/2015/10/colour-temperature-your-questions-answered
  6. .... and I was only watching! (on a 65" screen) Lost for words..
  7. The model in the video looks like the 2015 model, with front fogs (now deleted) The Rc200t has been dropped already from the UK range. Not available on the UK website. Not sure any of the linked info is EU focussed, all US specs
  8. Well, my humble battery version gets enough attention! Too many white vans slow down as they drive past my house, drivers gawping at the car. Even had the Boys in Blue slow and stop to look... Not me officer, honest! I've never driven a car that attracts so much attention and I've had some 'nice' cars in the past.
  9. Putting monies aside is great as long as one doesn't require to call upon it in the early period. Insurance/warranty is peace of mind, be it car, house or pet. For me that is worth the 'expense'.
  10. Showing a fault condition when an expected connection isn't there would be normal, surely? Joining the two inputs and fitting another sensor may well bring up a fault condition because the input is not within the expected range? Did you check to see if the test load exhibited the same values as the designed two sensors input?
  11. If I have the bluetooth tethering setup on the phone, so the car Nav system can connect to the internet and download traffic info, the text messaging readout doesn't work. I have no setting to enable the phone to read out texts but clearly something happens when connected to the car system.
  12. There appears to be only one NAV handbook available online for your GS 2014 model. The menu screens appear different. Does this link work for you? https://d24bc9lyrt5en5.cloudfront.net/Customer-Portal-Admin/emanuals/LEXUS/OM30E40E.pdf
  13. My CLS55 ran so much better on V-Power but then the engine could adjust the timing (using the anti-knock sensors) to make best use of whatever fuel it was feed with. Running on standard grades was fine but idle was slightly lumpy and acceleration not as strong or smooth. I'd be surprised if Lexus/Toyota engines don't auto-adjust as well? For the extra £5 or so per tank full I'm sticking with V-Power in my RC
  14. On the Premium system one selects Menu-Setup-Telephone-Message settings, then set the desired options
  15. If the delete button is greyed out it's possibly this reason "For PBAP compatible Bluetooth® phones, this function is available when “Automatic contact/history transfer” is set to off."
  16. My 2016 RC can read out texts but not emails. This is a limitation due to the phone not the car. You need to check your phone's compatibility with the car's system. https://www.lexus-tech.eu/Bluetooth/searchdedicated.aspx?lang=en
  17. Plug change every 36k or 48 months on the RC200t
  18. I think this is the same as on other Lexus models, it only heats the screen area under the parked wiper blades. Do you actually have the option fitted? The handbook details all options available, fitted or not
