  1. Nice! That's 175mph on the speedo, so probably 155-165mph actual? Do Lexus speed limit their performance cars, as MB do?
  2. My handbook states that when the outside air temperature nears 0c the A/C will not function, as in the chiller will not operate. Could this be what's happening in your case?
  3. My cars have always been gender neutral ...
  4. @Big Rat I agree but Zapp (Troutman bothers) and Frank Zappa not the same at all ..
  5. It's in the general owner's handbook, not the separate NAV handbook, under the "Using a External Device" section, page 369 in my version..
  6. I have used a 64Gb USB in my 2016 RC, no problems. From my handbook (nothing mentioned about max capacity) Compatible device formats The following device format can be used: • USB communication format: USB2.0 HS (480 Mbps) and FS (12 Mbps) • File system format: FAT16/32 (Windows) • Correspondence class: Mass storage class MP3, WMA and AAC files written to a device with any format other than those listed above may not play correctly, and their file names and folder names may not be displayed correctly. Items related to standards and limitations are as follows: • Maximum directory hierarchy: 8 levels • Maximum number of folders in a device: 3000 (including the root) • Maximum number of files in a device: 9999 • Maximum number of files per folder: 255
  7. How's about this? "You guys aren't like the Zodiac killers or anything, right?"
  8. "I'll tell you in another life, when we are both cats"
  9. Pretty sure reversing lamps are not an MoT check. Rear fog lamp is, centre or offside must function.
  10. You won't find another such attention grabbing car.... Throw in the V8 and it's the complete package. Go on, you know you want to 😎
  11. From those images, does it mean they are reintroducing front fog lamps? Or is that only for North American markets?
  12. That sounds more like a closing out offer? Including things that were originally only options now as standard on the outgoing version, just before the face-lift comes on stream?
  13. I certainly wouldn't pay for the paint correction. That should be part of the deal, Lexus to sort out the scratches / swirls and to your satisfaction. If you want the car, get it in writing and go for it.
  14. As I posted above my RC arrived in the UK pretty nearly completely wrapped in plastic. Normal prep would be remove the film and wipe down with panel wipe. Mine was then ceramic coated. You're correct about the paint process in the factory. Each coat is rubbed down by hand, ensuring an unusually smooth and orange peel free finish. Certainly the best paint finish I've seen in modern cars. Just have a look at a new Mercedes, terrible orange peel on every panel.
  15. A quick double press of the lock button switches off the signal. Should be in the handbook, battery saving function I believe it's called. I turned off the spare key but just put mine in a tin box, saves having to remember to switch it back on each morning
  16. Worth remembering the RC has a self healing top coat. My RC was delivered to the dealership with all panels covered by plastic wrap, even the alloys had hard plastic bin lid type covering.
  17. No but then I wouldn't buy a CT full stop. That aside, I would advise to only consider it if the seller had the car health checked by Lexus first and provided a warranty backed by a 3rd party
  18. I would think just about any other tyre shop would fit whatever tyre you want. It's just Costco that seems very risk averse
  19. Did the car driver cut the roundabout, as in, took a straight path rather than around the paint spot? To hit a van side on, the driver must have been, shall we say, distracted? Does one not always anticipate someone pulling out, "cutting one up"?
  20. The worst, Vauxhall Cavalier, totally mundane. Did everything it should be excelled in nothing. The best, SEAT Alhambra, 8yrs and 190k miles fault free driving. Versatile, load swallowing and very comfortable in summer or winter and over many miles (drove non-stop from Swindon to Fort William, no probs)
  21. My guess would be the pads had stuck on the discs. Happens fairly often after washing the car and not moving it for a day or so. Has done on my RC and also on my Mercs. Though I've never experienced again once the car has moved off. If the GS CVT is the same as the one in the RC then there are no brake bands or clutches. Just constantly meshed gears.
  22. Unfortunately not, photography wasn't one of my interests at the time. Even though the HPE was used at our wedding it managed not to get photographed!
