  1. No but then I wouldn't buy a CT full stop. That aside, I would advise to only consider it if the seller had the car health checked by Lexus first and provided a warranty backed by a 3rd party
  2. I would think just about any other tyre shop would fit whatever tyre you want. It's just Costco that seems very risk averse
  3. Did the car driver cut the roundabout, as in, took a straight path rather than around the paint spot? To hit a van side on, the driver must have been, shall we say, distracted? Does one not always anticipate someone pulling out, "cutting one up"?
  4. The worst, Vauxhall Cavalier, totally mundane. Did everything it should be excelled in nothing. The best, SEAT Alhambra, 8yrs and 190k miles fault free driving. Versatile, load swallowing and very comfortable in summer or winter and over many miles (drove non-stop from Swindon to Fort William, no probs)
  5. My guess would be the pads had stuck on the discs. Happens fairly often after washing the car and not moving it for a day or so. Has done on my RC and also on my Mercs. Though I've never experienced again once the car has moved off. If the GS CVT is the same as the one in the RC then there are no brake bands or clutches. Just constantly meshed gears.
  6. Unfortunately not, photography wasn't one of my interests at the time. Even though the HPE was used at our wedding it managed not to get photographed!
  7. Computer says, Nooo! Have read numerous posts on Costco fitting policy and they just will not 'modify' the fitting. One poster recounted how he already had non-standard tyres fitted but Costco computer says differently. so no sale! The speed rating thing is somewhat different though as one can happily fit H rated winter tyres on a 150mph super saloon, no problems (generally speaking, not referring to Costco)
  8. Learnt to drive in a Triumph Toledo Singer Chamois - my first car, totally rebuilt it into a Monte Carlo tarmac rally car Vauxhall Firenza HPE - aka Droop Snoot Vauxhall Chevette HSR - totally mental road car Vauxhall Cavalier (first child) - totally forgettable Rover Montego 7 seater estate (second and third child) - great car but rusted away before my very eyes! SEAT Alhambra (3 children + Labrador) - 190k trouble free, comfortable miles Mercedes C270 estate - bought as base model and then retrofitted every option possible bar sunroof Mercedes CLS55 AMG - absolute rocket ship, awesome lowdown torque. Glorious V8 growl + supercharger whine. A licence looser, had to go
  9. Must admit to finding the regen braking to be quite aggressive in my RC, certainly knocks off the speed quickly!
  10. Tell that to my friend, had his AMG stolen recently. Thieves smashed his front door open and threatened him and his wife at knife point. At least he could just toss them the keys. Had he fitted a Ghost he would have had to go with them.
  11. Been touted on the Merc forums for some time https://autowatch.co.uk/products/security-solutions/autowatch-immobiliser-systems/68-ghost-product Certainly a step up in security but if they really want your car, they'll simply break in and threaten your family. For me, I'd rather some sort of remote or time delayed fuel shut off. Let the thieves get far enough away, then disable the car.
  12. I think one has to simply get a hybrid health check done by Lexus to extend the warranty for another 10k miles or 1yr, done annually up until the car is 10yrs old
  13. We are talking hybrids here, which may well operate differently from 'normal' models?
  14. Brake lights on my 2016 RC300h come on at the slightest touch of the brake pedal. I have a long downhill to my house and use it to recharge the batteries by regen braking, I can see the brake light reflected in the hedgerow and road signage.
  15. An interesting website.. http://www.imcdb.org/vehicles_make-Lexus.html
  16. What would you use to treat/minimise the scuff marks Paul is asking about? I don't have the same dash but I'm guessing the materials are the same on my RC dash and I use Meg's Quicker interior detailer spray for a general tidy up or de-dust.
  17. First is the wiper screen heater, it warms the front screen where the wipers rest. The second, activates the pollen filter in the a/c Or if you mean the lower icon, the rear screen and door mirror heaters
  18. Not got an 'F' not got a red cat either but this is the closest I could get, well without opening a vein or two ... Our British Shorthair has pink pads!
  19. Clearly "persona non grata" Drop Admin an email?
  20. You could try logging out, clearing the cache and cookies and logging back in
  21. Just been into the How To Guides forum, no probs and have just uploaded a picture of my car as my avatar. One has to experiment with the photo size to find one that will size correctly
  22. I really miss the speed limiter I had in my Mercedes. So easy to click it on and not have to worry about speeding. Took me a couple of trips to figure out what the two beeps ment when I took delivery of the RC.
