  1. The cream started working, should be fine by the meet 😉
  2. Is a humble battery car allowed to attend?
  3. Pretty sure that function (on Mercedes at least) was performed using IR rather than RF, one needs to point the fob at the driver's door handle?
  4. Available from your friendly Lexus dealer - part # PZ448-W3T5109 I have the touch-up kit here in front of me, curiously it has an expiry date of 08/18. I wonder what happens to it after that date??
  5. I've not experienced this and suggest it's not normal. Get the calipers and pads checked out.
  6. Sorry I was editting my post. I don't see the stickies as I said I just use the new content option. I concur with the post above regards newbies looking for information. I can see how it would be irksome if one uses Tapatalk or the like but again even on my mobile I just use the standard browser pages
  7. You didn't enlighten, I'm still curious? You appear uncharacteristically grumpy about something relatively trivial
  8. The point being until you posted this I'd never actually noticed any stickies, so thanks for the educational thread. How does this abundance of stickies affect your use/enjoyment of the forum? As with a quite large number of threads posted here, if I'm not interested I don't read them. Conversely there may well be those who appreciate a constant, easily found repository of model specs? So, I guessing but the administrators of the forum believe these stickies are useful and the consistency is in the fact they are all stickies. I've not checked (as I rarely view the entire forum) but do the stickies regarding meet-ups and such events, get 'un-stuck' once the event has passed?
  9. Lovely looking car, well done. Has the leather gone shiny or was it always glossy?
  10. Films tend to be sacrificial and can look scabby after a while too.
  11. Would they be able to reproduce the finish, using the the 5 stage paint process ? I doubt it would come out much cheaper
  12. I've found paper towels give better results than microfibre. Renew often. Keep buffing until you don't feel the clean towel dragging
  13. I feel your pain ... 😩 I collected this chip on the bonnet very soon after getting the car (bought new) Dealer offered to repair it, using the touch-up kit but admitted it would "stick out like a sore thumb"!! An invisible repair would cost £1100 😵 requiring a complete bonnet respray.. I've left it and in the interim 18 months have not acquired any more....
  14. Meg's headlamp kit gets good reviews.. http://www.meguiars.co.uk/shop/two-step-headlight-restoration-kit
  15. Ensure the disc to hub face is scrupulously cleaned...
  16. According to the service check sheet for my RC the parking brake pedal travel is checked at each full service interval and is indicated as between 7-10 'clicks'
  17. No, don't think so. TPWS uses the rotational speeds of the wheels to determine the rolling circumferences. If a tyre deflates that circumference will change and so will the rotational speed. The TPWS doesn't know the tyre pressures, it just reacts to a change and it needs to be quite a significant change, approx 25% IIRC.
  18. Level sensor issue? Do these cars have a lever attached to the suspension strut or roll bar to determine the ride height?
  19. Why would a steamed headlamp affect the auto headlamp function? The sensor for that function is on the top of the dashboard?
  20. Going from 17" to 18" wheels will give the illusion of a wider tyre/arch gaps but so long as the correct profile tyres are fitted to give the same rolling circumference, it will be just that, an illusion but one I had to 'correct' on my Merc. Fitting lowered springs to standard shocks is not the best practice. The operating range will be 'wrong' and more importantly the compression and rebound characteristics of the shocks will be wrong for the springs. This can upset the handling. I'd recommend fitting matching shocks, from the spring supplier.
  21. Two possibilities, intake manifold air leak or it's just the electric motors spinning up. My RC300h also has a slight whine/whistle under acceleration, only audible with the widows down and driving between high walls If all else is fine I'd go with the latter
  22. He hasn't been on here since April 2013 ....
