  1. You need to set up a My Lexus account through the website or by using the Lexus Link mobile app for your phone platform.
  2. Do all the other methods of opening work? It's still under warranty, take it in for diagnosis ..
  3. I'm very saddened by this news, John was a great contributor to this forum. His posting dropped away quite a bit recently and I was becoming concerned... My sincerest condolences to John's family Sleep well John
  4. There is no legal requirement for front fog lights only for the rear
  5. Make sure they recalibrate any ADAS systems associated with the windscreen. Don't assume the wipers will operate correctly as every screen has a different transparency, get them to demonstrate correct operation
  6. From the Mercedes WIS (Workshop Information System) document regarding operation of the rear fog lamps.. (This was for vehicles manufactured in the first part of 2005, obviously the regs may have changed) "The rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) evaluates the signal pending in the CAN interior from the instrument cluster (A1) for the instantaneous ground speed and actuates the fog lamp (E4e5) as the ground speed < 60 km/h. In accordance with the German vehicle licensing regulations the operation of rear fog lamps in the Federal Republic of Germany is only permitted in fog, rain or snowfall with visibility of less than 50 m and with accordingly reduced vehicle speed. The ground speed dependent actuation serves to protect against any unintentional operation, if the driver e.g. after the poor visibility has improved increases speed, without switching off the rear fog lamps."
  7. I was quoted £1200 to correct a stone chip on the bonnet on my sonic red RC. The 5 stage paint is expensive to repair!
  8. Pretty sure any screen would be tougher than that. Cars (and their screens) go through far greater extremes of temperature than we owners are ever likely to experience. I'd suggest there was a flaw or damage existing prior to the cold weather.
  9. Can't say it bothers me much and it definitely doesn't adversely affect my vision. On my Mercedes cars the rear fogs go off if the car goes above 30mph perhaps more marques should follow suit?
  10. I'd suggest that seat leather is done for and the only real solution is to replace with new. A good auto upholsterer would be able to recreate the original look using new leather (the perforations are not a problem) using the original as a template if they can't source the oem pattern. Depending on how far you are prepared to travel (and you budget) these guy come very highly recommended. https://www.dclass.co.uk/contact
  11. Perhaps SWMBO - She Who Must Be Obeyed (aka, the wife/partner)
  12. " In the UK for example, it is legal to use a remote start system so long as your vehicle isn’t on a public highway as defined by the Road traffic Act as all legislation regarding leaving your vehicle running and unnatended are related to being on a public highway. Also known as stationary idling, Section 42 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 prohibits leaving your engine on when it is not needed. This act enforces Rule 123 of the Highway Code, which states “you must not leave a vehicle’s engine running unnecessarily while that vehicle is stationary on a public road”. Using the system on your own private driveway or private works car park (where the public don’t have a right of access through payment or otherwise / defined as a public highway as per the Road Traffic Act) is completely legal. If you ever did use it on a public highway by mistake and were prosecuted, it is a non endorsable offence meaning the penalty is a fine and no points on your licence." https://remotestarts.co.uk/faqs/
  13. The Lexus Relax warranty (the warranty that automatically renews for 12 months at each dealer service) is only for vehicles up to 100k miles and/or 10 years old. See the T&Cs below Lexus-Warranty-TCs-06-2022.pdf
  14. As it states in the handbook.... When weather conditions are bad enough that they may prevent the sensors from detecting correctly (fog, snow, sandstorm, heavy rain, etc.) ●When there is rain, snow, etc. on the front surface of the radar or front camera
  15. Drive it anyway, you're committing to nothing and gaining experience of what's on offer?
  16. Perhaps the horn sounding was perceived as aggressive, rather than just a warning? He was in the wrong but nothing other than you having to take avoiding action, happened, for the Police to pursue. An educational word from a traffic officer would achieve little other than cost the force time ....
  17. Surely the best time to test drive an E-Four?
  18. From the Lexus-tech doc for the climate control in the RX
  19. It's more to do with annoying the crew! When onboard a ferry it's recommended to disable/cancel the tilt and intrusion detector as directed in your handbook page 87. Press the switch in the overhead control panel after switching the car off. One cannot disable the main alarm but that would only go off should someone try and break into the car. It's all in the handbook
  20. Is the Off label meaning it can be set to off, not it is off? That used to be the logic in my Mercedes, confused the hell out of me at first.
  21. My Pixel 6 with protruding camera bar charges perfectly well using the wireless charger in my RX
