  1. I loved the exhausts Meisterschaft did for the AMGs, sounded epic. Looking forward to hearing the RC-F version..
  2. Just exploring possibilities. My routine drive from home involves going uphill between high walls each side of the road. In this hot weather, with windows down to dissipate the stored cabin hot air, I have heard lots of noises. High pitched whine, squeaks and buzzing! Follow John's suggestion and see if you can hear anything.
  3. Windows open in the recent hot weather?
  4. The car is a hybrid, worth noting the brakes do tend to squeak or groan on application/release at low speeds as they are not used routinely at speed as most retardation is via the regenerative braking function. Lexus really should engineer this out as it detracts somewhat from the otherwise serene progress
  5. I had to look that up ...
  6. An interesting thought on how to define 'luxury' "Is it that there is no reasonably priced alternative available? You can buy a Seiko watch for £25,000 but also one for £250. You can have a Hublot watch for £25,000 but not £250. Does that make one a luxury brand and not the other? Similarly, you can spend £200,000 on a new Mercedes and also £30,000, but there’s no new Bentley for the latter price. I’d dare say most people have no idea which £25,000 watch or £200,000 car is the better built or which involves more craftsmanship, but they will know which feels like luxury and which does not." https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/what-differentiates-luxury-car-one-merely-premium
  7. Just three days ago my dealership quoted £650 plus £30 labour to update the maps in my RC. I bought the update microSD online for £200 and did it myself in 5min. From Toyota EU... Still expensive but in line with my experience with Mercedes.
  8. Get the diagnosis done, otherwise you're just guessing. From whom did you buy the car? Does it have warranty?
  9. One can cancel the light by increasing the tyre pressure to above the set pressure. Each time one 'cancels' the warning by using the button one initialises the the system and the current tyre pressures are used as the new benchmark, whether they are correct or not.
  10. Tyre pressures are displayed in the cluster, scroll through the options
  11. As the title, what defines a premium marque these days? Electronic gizmos are "two-a-penny" Sat Nav, Telephony, Multi-media connectivity are cheap and common place. So what differentiates the common-place from the exclusive? Styling? Very subjective. Exclusivity? What defines exclusive? Cost? Numbers? An open question ..
  12. Indeed, check tyre pressure cold is a must. Not had an issue with over-pressure, when temps drop winter time I always adjust. I wonder what the tolerance is on the warning?
  13. One only needs the reset button if one changes the benchmark pressure i.e. increasing pressures for full load conditions.
  14. AFAIK the system just recognises the contact from your spoken word. One must speak the contact exactly as it is listed. At least that's how it works on my 2016 Premium Nav system
  15. Failing/faulty wheel ABS sensor? How good is your battery, low charge can cause various glitches.
  16. Do you have the link to those you were looking at?
  17. Lexus do have an online shop.. http://www.ebaystores.co.uk/LexusOfficialStore/_i.html?_fsub=4702585016&
  18. I think the regs actually do deem this illegal as the manufacturer (Lexus) have provided a very practicable vertical mounting "(3) This paragraph requires the plate to be fixed— a)vertically or, where that is not reasonably practicable, in a position as close to the vertical as is reasonably practicable," http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2001/561/part/II/made
  19. I tend to find the recommended pressures work best but it is perfectly OK to experiment with any pressure between the max and min recommended, keeping any front to rear differential whilst keeping an eye on tyre wear. See what pressures give your preferred ride and handling. Could the A/B thing be for switching between summer and winter wheel sets? Presumably you have tyre pressure monitoring (actual pressures displayed in the dash)?
  20. I'm looking to purchase a second set of wheels for winter tyres. The handbook for my RC states that two sets of four codes can be stored. Presumably negating the need for a change-over switch, as none is mentioned?
  21. If Lexus follow other major marques then the looms for options not fitted at the factory will not be present.
  22. I don't view the rev counter in Normal mode and can't really hear what the engine is doing but in Sport mode love the instant PlayStation gear changes. Much more responsive than the AMG manual mode in my CLS55. The RC always seems to be in the correct 'gear', loving the e-CVT and believe it's the transmission of the future!
  23. Yes, in Lexus world Luxury is the base level model, with next F-Sport and then Premier the most optioned. What are your impressions of the e-CVT transmission?
  24. Tried Halfords?
