  1. I think the term "worn close to the legal limit/worn on edge" is an, either/or/and, statement. 3mm is close to the legal limit if one considers new they would have been 8mm?
  2. Thinking again, as this was an EU media release, it probably only means the rest of Europe, where the 200T is still listed.
  3. Got the 'corn early this time ...
  4. Quite liking the new bumper treatment.. I see they are bringing back the 200T variant? "Throttle response from the turbocharged 2.0-litre engine has been improved to deliver a more direct feeling of acceleration and a more spirited driving experience."
  5. There's millions of unclaimed government grant for the installation of charging infrastructure ... something like only 3 councils have applied ...
  6. Emissions are far better and easily controlled in a centralised generation location, than scattered across the map. The actions/mileage of the driver of a ZEV has no impact on global warming..
  7. Agreed ... ZEV can be included in ULEV (a measurable level of toxic emissions) but not all ULEV (by Gov. definitions) can be included in ZEV. (no measurable toxic emissions) So, ZEV can only be fuel cell or battery powered (or possibly thorium cell?? 😉)
  8. ULEV must still burn fossil fuel surely, to be able to measure some level of emission? ZEV, by definition emit nothing, so could only be fuel cell or battery powered
  9. Agreed.. I think there will be a quite sudden jump to ZEV, leaving ULEV behind. ULEV will be a very short lived phase..
  10. Very typical. And reassuring, in that one can't inadvertently speed?
  11. Damn I've only just got the popcorn in ....
  12. Does this model have self levelling xenon/led headlamps? It is quite possible for the alignment to change due to hitting potholes etc.. It is also possible the self levelling sensors have become damaged. All car headlamps can be adjusted, the self levelling will still have some form of screw adjustment for centring before the self levelling takes over.
  13. Rubbish. The instance of this type of failure is extremely rare. All surveys show owners very happy with Lexus reliability. People are very quick to complain and the absence of such complaining on the various Lexus forums is testimony to Lexus reliability.
  14. I was under the impression that Techstream could be downloaded free from Toyota EU. One only has to pay for the connector cable and then online time, by the hour? Quite reasonable actually
  15. You can get phenomenal mpg figures depending on how one resets the trip computer. The only mpg figure that means anytime that calculated from brim to brim fill ups. Taking in all one's driving routes and style.
  16. Glad your are enjoying your new car. BTW, the car shown in your profile is the IS220D
  17. Presumably you have changed your car from that shown in your profile? I use the EV mode very successfully, every morning leaving the house in "stealth mode". It doesn't deactivate until I reach approx 20 mph or the battery has been depleted. Also use it in car parks, great for startling pedestrians! 😎 Yes, it requires a gentle foot on the accelerator, it's just practice...
  18. I decided not to find out and have left it. The chip, to the casual observer, looks like a dust fleck and I'm well over the initial annoyance! I'm feel there will be more but to date, nothing! 😎
  19. Lets see the results obtained from other cars tested for motorway emissions
  20. Hybrids are urban/town cars for economy, on the open road they are simple petrol cars....
  21. My local dealer had a CT in that colour in the showroom. Looked stunning under the lights!
  22. I miss the soft speed limiter I had on my Mercs, I would set it to the signposted limit and drive normally, in the knowledge I couldn't accidentally accelerate over the limit. Cruise control just doesn't work in these situations, unless the radar controlled version, even then it's always trying to accelerate to the set cruise speed. The (undocumented) speed camera alert in the RC works really well when driving unfamiliar roads.
