  1. Osram do a good range of upgraded lamps. As do Phillips. Just make sure you purchase from a reputable seller, there lots of counterfeit ones out there. The downside to these higher output lamps is they tend to fail sooner than OEM
  2. A beautiful car, in coupe form (IMHO) with accent cues to the LC, both inside and out, again IMHO. MB are quite avant-garde wrt technology (but still behind the likes of Audi and BMW)
  3. I had Williams ceramic coating from new, thoroughly recommend it. On a used car it would need careful preparation first.
  4. Did you follow the procedure as detailed in the handbook? Time to stop guessing and get the car on Techstream and read off any error codes
  5. From my handbook - Switching between outside air and recirculated air modes Press . The mode switches among (recirculated air mode), automatic and (outside air mode) modes each time the button is pressed. When the system is switched to automatic mode, the air conditioning system operates automatically. The indicator above the selected button comes on. Outside/recirculated air mode may automatically switch depending on the temperature setting or the inside temperature From the Lexus EU tech doc for my car Also as posted above the light sensor on the dash top is dual function, providing the a/c amplifier control with light intensity info.
  6. If you've checked the pressures, when cold and all is correct, the pressures are as suggested on the door pillar label, then I'd suggest resetting the TPMS using the button on the lower dash panel.
  7. As I posted, at start-up the system will be in recirc to speed up heating or cooling. It will also switch to recirc in traffic when the NOx sensor detects high levels. It will also switch back and forth on a trip simply to maximise heating and cooling efficiency. I don't use ECO mode, ever.
  8. Doesn't your car automatically switch from recirc to outside? On mine I have everything st to auto and the system invariably starts off on recirc until the desired temp is met, be that heating or, in summer, cooling.
  9. Reminds me of my C class having headlamp washers retro-fitted.
  10. Exactly this ^^^^ What is "unnecessary wear"? I my opinion it is "necessary" to operate the a/c all the time to keep the cabin dehumidified, the windows mist free and most importantly, me comfortable!
  11. I have mine on Auto permanently, with the a/c enabled. On very cold mornings it might take a short while before the fan ramps up and heat comes through but it never blasts cold air, except as said above, when using the demist function.
  12. It's not difficult.. Drive to the reading on the speedometer, don't try second (GPS) guessing it. The time 'saved' would be insignificant. Speed limits are a limit, not a target.
  13. As your quoted text reads, some speedometers can be quite accurate, some less so and it can be significantly variable throughout any one manufacturer's models. That said I think it risky to travel at the speeds you suggest as being reasonable.
  14. Ha!, I think it defaults to US units. I clicked on the link and, yes it's 33.1mpg ave. on the website but look top left the units are US, change to UK and you get the 39.7 in my sig link.
  15. Does the hybrid system start and show Ready?
  16. Not sure what tag you're looking at but when I login to fuelly my ave shows as 39.7?
  17. That's about what I paid my dealership to replace the blades at the last service.
  18. Points to harmonics two or more vibrations reinforcing and negating one another. Get the rims inspected check tyres don't have any bulges. Check the suspension bushes. Check the propshaft bearings as well.
  19. Wheel balancing, possible buckled wheel(s)? Vibrations felt through the chassis usually to do with rear wheels or suspension.
  20. Substitute 300h for F and you have described my thoughts/feelings exactly for my version of the RC
  21. Which you should get back, once A's insurers pay up, assuming they admit full culpability. B's insurance company will be informed anyway by A's insurers . Does B have protected NCD?
