  1. In the RC300h (2016) the entry system automatically goes dormant after approx 14 days, saving drain on the 12v battery.
  2. Must admit to thinking this was the maximum safe inflation pressure for seating the beads on installation, not a safe max running pressure? Tyre pressures are a function of axle weight and so would be different for different cars. That sidewall value is specific to the tyre, not it's fitment.
  3. Fuses rarely blow for no reason. Check the socket for damage/debris and always keep the socket cover closed when not in use.
  4. You could have used the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of each page?
  5. It's what the handbook calls the ignition button, the big blue one top left of the cluster..
  6. When are you using the socket? "The power outlet can be used when the power switch is in ACCESSORY or ON mode" Fuse location, check the lid of the fuse box in the passenger footwell
  7. Be careful using compressed air to blow out the brake discs/pads. Brake dust can be hazardous and should not be inhaled, protect you eyes.. (Sorry don't mean to preach to the converted....)
  8. It's not just the dpf, modifying any part of the emission control system is a major fail. 8.2.2 Compression ignition engine emissions 8.2.2.1 Exhaust emission control equipment You only need to check components that are visible and identifiable, such as diesel oxidation catalysts, diesel particulate filters, exhaust gas recirculation valves and selective catalytic reduction valves. Defect Category Emission control equipment fitted by the manufacturer missing, obviously modified or obviously defective Major An induction or exhaust leak that could affect emissions levels Major Evidence that the diesel particulate filter has been tampered with Major https://www.mot-testing.service.gov.uk/documents/manuals/class3457/Section-8-Nuisance.html#section_8.2
  9. Same with Mercedes, the accountants have taken over ...
  10. You can renew the cores, may be worth the few pennies it'll cost?
  11. So, Techstream can't determine if an antenna amplifier has gone down?
  12. Speed limits are exactly that, a limit, not a target. Drive to the conditions
  13. Find out what the problem is.. Get the car on Techstream to read any error codes to eliminate hardware faults. Is there any firmware/software updates available for your model/year? Do other road users have similar reception issues around where you drive? Does the DAB unit automatically scan for better alternate stations?
  14. I'd be surprised if the emblem contained the sensor, usually it's simply a shield protecting the sensor behind.
  15. 90k isn't that great a distance and presumably still under warranty? I winder if it may be related to climate? Is it significantly warmer there than here in the UK, having said that most places are warmer than the UK!! ?
  16. Interesting. What was the issue with the hybrid battery? Why did your 12v batteries keep failing? What sort of journeys do you do and where are you located?
  17. Andriod app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.mylexus.lexus.com.mylexus&hl=en iOS app https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/my-lexus/id1162205259?mt=8 It is possible to send destinations to the car Nav system. It may be dependent on the Nav option your car has though. Definitely possible on my 2016 Premium Nav
  18. Many current Lexus models have road sign recognition and this can be linked to the cruise control for automatic speed limiting ... It will be interesting how the powers-that-be will resolve mistakes made by the recognition system? The usual caveat will be the driver is always ultimately responsible.. Look at the arguments around 'driver-less' autopilot cars. I can see an argument for limiting the V-max of cars but this proposed camera/GPS lead limiter is fraught with issues. There was a EU wide survey on RTCs and concluded vast majority of deaths and serious injuries happened at or below the speed limit.
  19. From a report this morning, the car will read road signs and warn the driver to slow, if ignored the car would automatically slow. This could be overridden by the driver applying firm pressure on the accelerator. Pretty much the same as overriding cruise control. There is no hard, fixed top speed limit. Volvo and others are looking to electrically limiting top speed to 112mph. The former is to reduce speeding, the latter to eliminate deaths from RTCs ...
