  1. Another subtle change is the operation of the retractable steering wheel, now triggered by the seatbelt buckle fastening or releasing and not the Power button.
  2. I noticed this on my 2016 RC especially after washing the car. It always cleared within an hour and didn't affect light output.
  3. Just collected my new RC300h, now in Azure Blue, replacing my Sonic Red 2016 model. First impressions are, it's noticeably quieter. There is much less 'milk-float' whine on deceleration. The car will accelerate much longer on electric, the car switching to battery power more readily in general driving. The Mark Levinson sounds much fuller than the standard audio in the 2016 model, which wasn't poor in any respect. The Sat Nav has been improved no end, much easier to set routes etc.. Filled the tank with V-Power and looking forward to exploring the suspension and steering upgrades
  4. No issues whatever regarding DAB reception across the south. I drive from east to west quite often and have never experienced drop-out. This is with my previous Merc and current RC. Suggest getting the antenna checked out along with the amplifier?
  5. Answer #13 in this link explains it quite well, it's long but in the last half it talks about using neutral https://mechanics.stackexchange.com/questions/5739/use-of-neutral-gear-in-automatic-transmission This from my CLS handbook "Stopping When you stop briefly, e.g. at traffic lights: Leave the transmission in gear. Hold the vehicle with the brake. When you stop longer with the engine idling and/or on a hill: Set the parking brake. Move the gear selector lever to position P."
  6. In non hybrid automatics putting the box into neutral will cause extra wear on the clutch and brake bands. Owner's handbook usually recommend keeping this in D unless stopped for prolonged periods, when one should shift into P.
  7. Tyres do take a short while to rid themselves of surface release agent and to settle properly on their rims. Always advisable to 'break' them in gently for the first 100 miles or so. Check ,as posted above, wheel bolts are tight. Check also the tyres are fitted the correct way round, if they are directional. What are the pressures like? But if, as you say, they now feel ok and the above checks are all ok, I would just take it easy for a few more miles.
  8. I've found that if I have the phone tethered to get live traffic updates then text messages don't appear. My RC automatically prevents the car rolling back on slopes, nothing to do especially.
  9. Lexus, though I'd be surprised if the Mazda didn't also. It is also possible the disable the keyless entry system in advance, if one knows the car won't be driven for a prolonged period. It's under customisation in the handbook (for my RC at least)
  10. Pretty sure the keyless entry system goes dormant after 10-14 days of not detecting a signal?
  11. Try pages 123-125 but I must admit it's not easily understood without sitting in the car and pressing buttons! Looking at the summary table on page 505 Drive Information 1 can display fuel consumption data and Drive Information 2 can display mileage data. It's not clear if one can mix and match data across screens. It would be interesting to see if one changes the displayed info in the bigger side screen is it reflected in the 'in-dial' screen? Really need to sit in the car and play (something I'm looking forward to as my new RC is now at the dealership!)
  12. If it is possible the options will be documented in the owner's handbook. Have you downloaded the handbook?
  13. Surely you would still only have paid the £400 had you gone through insurance? One only has to pay up to the policy excess, not the excess irrespective?
  14. Do you have auto-wipers? If so check they correctly set-up the new screen and sensor.
  15. On my RC it does this when I haven't tethered my phone as I have set the Nav to automatically download routes from the portal.
  16. Looking at the spec here, they are included - "Textile carpet mats" (Follow the link to Compare Grades - INTERIOR COMFORT & CONVENIENCE ) https://www.lexus.co.uk/car-models/es/prices-and-specifications/
  17. Don't know if these docs help at all? Tyre Pressure ID Registration.pdf Tyre Pressure Warning System Description.pdf
  18. AFAIK one must replace the UK spec lamps with Continental spec to pass the Spanish 'MoT'
  19. Captured this morning https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/photos/picture/ships/3529798/shipid:183906 Yes, sad I know ...
  20. Give your dealership a call, you never know, might be a quick turnaround possible.
  21. The Toledo has docked!!
