  1. If it is a glass break sensor, why only on the one side (behind the driver on a RHD)?
  2. You and me both ... Lexus couldn't even say if mud flaps will be available at some point in the future .. That said they still haven't produced a UK brochure for the 2019 RC300h !!
  3. Then why not vent them from outside? Cabin air is going to be a more constant temperature maybe that's better for the batteries? They seem to perform better in the summer months
  4. I wonder why Lexus saw the need to add this? It wasn't there on the previous model IIRC?
  5. Are you sure it's for demisting? Have you seen it in operation? I'm assuming yours is a LHD version? The same quarter window on my RC would be behind the driver's seat (RHD) and I must admit to thinking this was some sort of antenna wiring not for demisting. I have used the demist a couple of times now and have not noticed (but then haven't looked, speciically) anything clearing ...
  6. If you can invoke the ABS when braking hard then there's nothing wrong and perhaps you need to read the road better and moderate the speed. There is virtually no retardation through the hybrid transmission, one must feather the brakes to use the regeneration function, hydraulic braking only comes in at lower speed or heavy pedal application. Pretty sure Lexus has specified the brakes to safely arrest the car all situations.
  7. Gazed at it in amazement, still so clean after standing 2 weeks (whilst we were on holiday - South America) the Lexus (GEN3) glass coat is working well..
  8. Spotted outside a rest stop on the Pan Americas highway through Ecuador
  9. I thought alignment/tracking was done routinely at annual service? Certainly was on my RC.
  10. I can generally concur with Renato's post above, the 2019 RC is an improvement on the already fine 2016 model. As I'm currently bouncing and crashing along some truly atrocious roads high in the Peruvian Andes I can only dream of cruising along the relatively glass-like roads of the UK in my RC ...
  11. If it's the latest Lexus protect stuff, actually it's GEN3 glass coat, the GEN3 website specifically says not to use waxes or polishes. Their Glasscoat wash solution works really well if somewhat uninspiring, absolutely no suds at all .. They say the coating is safe with "well maintained" car washes.
  12. Interesting, I had the standard audio in my first RC and now have ML in my current RC. The difference is night and day, the ML being so much more open and detailed. Bass is far deeper and more solidly controlled. The standard audio was more than adequate but the ML is streets ahead... and this is at comfortable listening levels (I hate beat-box cars..) and tone controls level, DSP on. I'm loving it and well worth the extra in such a quiet car.
  13. A low mileage, infrequently used (garage queen) car can be more problematic than a car that is in constant use doing many miles.
  14. Does the alarm have it's own back-up battery?
  15. Also to induce understeer, or perhaps more correctly, reduce the chance of oversteer
  16. I also live in an area with little in the way of street lighting but I don't use the AHS as the system is too slow to react to on-coming vehicles and too fast to react to reflections from road signs!!
  17. Even better, from the Lexus-tech EU doc for my car.. "If the 2-piece disc rotor is used together with a steel wheel, the disc hat may deform, causing the wheel nut to loosen. Only use aluminium wheels." So, I couldn't use a 'space-saver' type wheel anyway ...
  18. Of course, as long as the front and rear wheels are the same size, which mine aren't... So what size does one buy? That's how space savers came about, they fit either axle.
  19. Is it not worth a chat with Lexus? The car is still under warranty. Nothing ventured nothing gained...
  20. Which wouldn't help if one has a car with staggered set-up. Rear wheel/tyres combo wouldn't fit on the front. One of the main reasons for having a space-saver (i.e. narrow) wheel?
  21. The Lexus/AA definition of a "breakdown" (my highlighting) "Breakdown - An unforeseen event when an Eligible Vehicle or an Other Vehicle is immobilised as a result of the failure of a mechanical or electronic part or system or combination thereof (including any manufacturer’s accessory); a puncture; a lock out; theft; attempted theft; vandalism or a lack of fuel, oil or consumable item. The failure of any part or system component may be customer induced provided that it was accidental."
  22. Lexus Roadside Assistance is provided by the AA T&Cs here - https://d3rvezpmgp265q.cloudfront.net/lexusone/lexgbenv11/LRA-brochure_tcm-3157-1272758.pdf
  23. Not since Nov 2018, anyone can place a car for sale ad, you must use the provided template though... Read here -
