Faults on my new ux takumi
NemesisUK replied to Colin haynes's topic in Lexus UX250h / UX300h / UX300e Club
No suggestions from the dealer, no thoughts at all? My first would be a faulty nearside radar sensor, possibly dodgy connection or chaffing loom. The headlamps not dipping, gotta be something with the front screen mounted camera, either adjustment/alignment or possibly a screen blemish. Any or all would throw up some error codes, or be fairly easy to check. I'd suggest taking the car to another dealership. Exactly how new is the car, how many miles on the clock? -
On the RC the dash top mounted sensor is for the lights. The sensor on the RVM is for auto dimming mirrors. I haven't found the sensor responsible for the sat may screen. On my Mercs that sensor was actually within the screen itself.

Key Card
NemesisUK replied to W Nally's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
My 2019 RC300 came with both the usual key fob and the key card. The card does not need to be carried with the fob, it functions instead of the fob, just no buttons. The card can be left in one's pocket/wallet, it doesn't slot in anywhere. It's just meant as a less bulky/obtrusive device for opening the car.. I imagine carrying both might confuse the car regarding the easy entry memory settings and climate memory settings. -
The first thing one reads is. "It is your own responsibility to ensure that the use of the LED retrofit lights complies with applicable local legal requirements." Plus under the spec listing.. " Homologation ECE NO" Bottom line is one cannot legally fit LED into lamp units designed for halogens

Rear discs overheating
NemesisUK replied to John B.'s topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
The braking force distribution is controlled by an ECU, so in theory it could possibly miss-apply the brakes but I doubt it would fail that way. Rear brakes account for very little actual braking (disregarding regenerative braking) I think as little as 20%. Lexus-Tech.eu has all the tech docs on how the system works, this is the doc for my 2019 RC, just for example Brake Control System.pdf -
I have that colour combo with my RC and have received many compliments.

The only legal way would be to fit the xenon lamp units from another/later model, if they exist. If the donor model also has the auto-levelling and washers, they would have to be fitted also.

New F interior colour combinations

They have really reduced the amount of colour coverage, sadly ... -
Condensation rx450h
NemesisUK replied to granadaman's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Ensure the screen is very clean inside. A dirt film attracts water vapour and allows it to condense on the surface. Check the condition of the cabin filter(s), check the underlying floor sound deadening is dry. Keep the a/c switched on permanently, this dehumidifies the air. -
You could use one of the 'up-rated' halogen offerings? https://www.osram.com/am/am_com_ledriving_campaign_4.jsp

Drips and Dribbles
NemesisUK replied to Rabbers's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
Can't say I've noticed that it is any worse than before. I always dry the door shuts and in doing so encourage the drips from the mirrors, ready for the final wipe. -
Connected services and map updates on IS300h
NemesisUK replied to Ken83's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I believe that's for service and tech docs, rather than the connected services account required to link to the car's multimedia unit?- 7 replies

seat change
NemesisUK replied to amjo's topic in RX 300 / RX 350h / RX 400h / RX 200t / RX 450h+ / RX 500h Club
Doesn't the a/c direct more cooled air to the floor when the ventilated seat function is selected? In the RC there is a synergy between the two functions, with the a/c controlling the seat fan speed under certain conditions. The swap may well be physically possible but there may be numerous control factors and coding required. Without 'official' Lexus retro-fit support I doubt it would be fully functioning.. -
Built on special request would have to mean it's been assembled from spares and that would be hugely expensive (never mind the labour costs)!! My guess is they were unsold 2016 models that have been doing the rounds in Japan dealerships and finally shipped over here, quite possibly "on special request". Looking at the spec, did the GSF have 12.3" touch audio/nav display back in 2016? Maybe some (expensive) retro-fits?

menu screen display
NemesisUK replied to alan maycock's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
Have you tried pressing and holding for 5sec? I'd suggest taking it back to the garage for them to sort, if they caused the problem.. -
From the above mentioned handbook .. "Switching to EV drive mode when the gasoline engine is cold If the hybrid system is started while the gasoline engine is cold, the gasoline engine will start automatically in order to warm up. In this case, you will become unable to switch to EV drive mode To prevent gasoline engine warm up in order to reduce noises, start the hybrid system without starting the gasoline engine, pressing the power switch with fully depressing the brake pedal and pressing the EV drive mode switch." This is slightly different from the process in my RC, where one puts the car into the Ready state and then presses the EV mode switch. This 2019 RC model waits a considerably longer period of time before starting the gasoline engine compared with the 2016 model
