I would very much like you to be correct on this. I really miss the speedtronic limiter I had on my Mercedes but there is noting in the handbook to suggest your are correct. I've set the cruise on both my 2016 and 2019 RCs and was able to accelerate past that set speed, returning to the cruise speed when lifting off. I feel this is something Lexus should really offer, the ability to drive as normal but not go past an upper set limit. Great for driving through average speed limit areas on motorways! Also very comforting when driving through town or urban areas. Set the limit to 30 or 40 mph and just drive normally knowing one cannot go past the set limit (unless one depresses the accelerator to the floor).

I think that symbol only appears once you have actually set a cruise speed?

As with many warranties the diagnosis is charged but is then 'absorbed' if it results in a successful claim. If the diagnosis points to a fault not covered then the charge stands. Seems reasonable TBH

Yes this is the case. No paper manual supplied by default. One can request one to be supplied but all manuals are now available online (register on My Lexus portal) for downloading in PDF form and Lexus would, it seems, prefer owner's to go this route. My 2019 RC came with a short guide in paper form but the PDF version is very much more comprehensive.

For those just looking for a quick fix Osram do a range of updated halogen and hid bulbs, some claiming 200% increase in light output. In my experience these generally do work well but service life is dramatically reduced..

It works? Also, I think it lends a more 'sporty' impression? Purely a visual thing as, apart from starting and stopping, one hardly ever touches it!

Who told you this and how did they determine it is fine? Batteries can and do fail dramatically, fine one day struggle the next.

In all my driving memory it's only ever happened to me the once, in my 2016 RC300h ... I also had to stop and reverse a couple of feet to free it.

Perfectly normal.. First time it happened to me I thought I'd run over a brick! Once the temps drop it happens every time I leave my driveway. All to do with the wide tread and low sidewall height. Happens to many marques fitted with low profile wide tyres

Speed camera alert has been and still is standard on the RC300h in the UK. I thought speed camera detectors were illegal in France? Does this also apply to GPS based alert systems?

The only bongs and bings I experience on start up are as the audio/nav unit recognises my phone as connected, just a brief sound, nothing intrusive. Nothing on shutdown though

Rattles like this, IME, have come from the CATs not the exhaust box. Either way a strap fixed around the offending unit may well cure it (did on the CAT on my MB)

My winter routine.. Open car, start engine, switch on heated seats (and now I can also switch on the heated steering wheel 😎) switch on the heated rear screen and door mirrors. Scrape windscreen and side windows clear Get back in and drive away. Car is pushing out warm air within 1 mile, seats are toasty warm... Unless you are parked on private land (driveway) it is an offence to leave a car unattended with the engine running.

And assuming the previous owner handed the card key back with the car? These things are expensive, no dealership would replace lost/missing keys automatically.

Just curious as to why you felt the need to fit an aftermarket oil (ATF) cooler kit? What was wrong with the original set-up?

Or is it the moisture protection film inside the door, behind the door card?
