  1. The best protector is, IMHO, prevention... To clarify, regular gentle cleaning will prevent deterioration and accelerated wear.
  2. Yup, just the springs are offered and according to the official Lexus configurator they work with the stock shock absorbers, which on the RC350 F Sport is AVS Hopefully the link will work https://www.lexus.com/build-your-lexus/#!/zip/90263/series/RC/year/2020/trim/9213/buildId/103/option-details/S2/my-dream-car/{-x-:-05C1-,-i-:-EB04-,-a-:[-S2-],-p-:[],-z-:[]}
  3. When buying my 2019 RC300h I enquired of my dealer if they could source lowering springs for the car. As Lexus do sell and fit and still cover under warranty lowering sets for the 350 and RC-F in the States, they don't for the hybrid, as they don't market the RC300h there. My dealer enquired with Lexus Japan and was informed lowering springs were not available for the 300h
  4. A number of Lexus models (my RC for certain) have a rear camber that will wear the inner edge of the rear tyres. This is perfectly normal. My RC had a full geometry check at each service and at nearly 3yrs and 17k miles the tyres were showing inner edge wear. This was pointed out to me by the service manager and explained it was normal. One just has to keep an eye on the wear, not just a glance at the centre and outer edges. Regarding the bolts being seized any good mechanic would be able to free them off and replace with new.
  5. Yep all modern leather is PU coated (except very high end specials) and doesn't benefit from the use of conditioners. In fact conditioners can create the very problem they are supposed to prevent. The conditioner just sits on the surface of the (coating) leather and attracts grit and grime. This then get 'massaged' into the folds and creases of the leather, wearing away the coating and causing cracks. These then attract more dirt and turn dark/black. I had my Merc retrimmed with a naked nappa leather. The seats felt wonderfully soft and smelt great but they were horrendously difficult to keep clean. Never again.. Proprietary cleaners are generally ok but simple luke-warm water with a little wool detergent works equally well. That all said I use the Lexus executive leather cleaning kit on my RC.
  6. Dual is the control for tandem or individual temp setting. Do you have your smart-key linked to the climate control i.e as you unlock/open the door the system resets the heating control (plus other memory controlled things, such as seats and mirrors) to the last set options?
  7. How about the obvious, your local Lexus dealership?
  8. If you go to the size suggested your speedo will under read massively, you would be doing nearly 77mph at an indicated 70mph. The difference in rolling circumference is 6.9%. The recommended max is 2.5% https://www.tyremen.co.uk/tyre-size-calculator
  9. Sticking them on with tape designed for reg plates is the better way to go. They will be more secure, less likely to be stolen and won't promote delamination/discolouration.
  10. Doesn't your insurance have glass replacement cover?
  11. Doesn't appear to be the case in the RC. The handbook states operation condition is the Power switch is in the ON mode.
  12. If the potential financial lose is great enough the insurers will send an expert to interrogate the ECU and any change in mapping will be discovered. Do not believe those claims from remap companies that their remaps are undetectable.
  13. No offence meant but you haven't put the bulb in upside down? I know it's possible on some (MB) models, maybe also on the LS?
  14. All automotive leather is coated and sealed, so conditioner is a waste and possibly detrimental to the finish. Use any proprietary cleaner or simply use luke warm water with a little wool detergent. Don't soak the leather, dry naturally.
  15. Dyno runs are great for before and after comparison figures demonstrating any increased output due to tuning work but as a stand alone measurement, one would need to show calibration certs for the dyno for the figures to carry any weight.
  16. Not in my experience with Lexus Swindon, who have as Rayaan has said above do the check each service. I was speaking with their geometry tech only two weeks ago. All he does is geo checks/adjustments.. I just wasn't sure if the checks were done on the RX as on my RC.
  17. I think the 'problem' is with the OP's dealership not Lexus per se. Structural Blue is clearly easily repaired as per the video (in fact it's an easier respray than the 4 layer Sonic red, Ultrasonic blue/ Naples yellow and Sonic titanium). Sourcing the paint shouldn't be an issue either. Obviously not common as so few cars out there with this colour but should be an issue IMHO. Try a different dealership, or as suggested above, contact Lexus UK directly
  18. This might be of interest to you "Lexus Structural Blue, paint code 8Y0 is a standard basecoat/clearcoat system. This amazing color looks like it might be difficult to repair, but actually, it's very simple. Follow this recommended procedure from PPG to perform a small spot repair on this color. Structural Blue was developed by Lexus and VIAVI Solutions Inc. It’s based on the coloration of the vibrant morpho butterfly, a species found in Central and South America. The butterfly appears blue in color but does not actually have blue scales in its wing surfaces. The blue color — which varies depending on the ambient light — is achieved through light interference. PPG has introduced a training video to assist paint technicians with refinishing Lexus automobiles sporting the OEM’s Structural Blue finish. The video has been produced to dispel the notion that complex colors require a complex refinish process. In fact, it's not difficult at all." I was quoted £1100 to repair a simple stone chip on my Sonic Red painted bonnet..
  19. I was surprised to find that a full 4 wheel alignment check as standard on full service on my RC (it's listed on the service check sheet, any required adjustments would be additional charge), on my 2016 RC final service it was noted that the inner edges of the rear tyres were showing wear. This was normal for my model, according to the service manager. Does the RX also benefit from a full 4 wheel alignment check at service time?
  20. I have used an Android phone with both my 2016 and now 2019 model with no issues. My phone (not the Lexus Nav) doesn't support email. The Lexus Nav appears to drop SMS notifications when the phone is used as a bluetooth hotspot for live traffic and Nav services.
  21. Have a look here for phone compatibility https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/bluetooth/#bluetooth-compatibility
