  1. Owner's and Infotainment manuals are now online download PDFs Register with the My Lexus website and you can access the manuals and also see the complete service history for the car Manuals can be access separately if you wish simply click on the icon top right of the home webpage https://www.lexus.co.uk/
  2. Similar advice to that from Mercedes, replace singularly below 80km, unless there is obvious faults/failure both sides.
  3. So, 0.3 mile is 0.5 km (pedant mode would be 0.48 km!! ), I got my units wrong!
  4. Strange that such a new car has this missing Sure I read here that quite a few had fuse covers missing, something to do with accessories fitted and piggyback fuses meaning the cover wouldn't fit? Do you have a dashcam hard wired in?
  5. Anything on the US Lexus forums? They seem quite handy with the mods.
  6. I think a number of those voice commands are only recognised if the multimedia system is on the correct screen for that command. Some are 'universal' some very app specific. It's not in the least intuitive, very in keeping with the Lexus multimedia system in general ...
  7. How does your insurance company view this type of modification?
  8. It can also ruin the CATs The engine light is on, would suggest something's amiss?
  9. Just did a test on my RC seat heaters.. Got in and started the car (hybrid system On), switched both seat heaters on, got out as if to clear windows etc.. Left it running for ~4min. Got back in and noticed my drivers seat was warm. I placed my hand on the passenger seat and it felt cool. Got out and went round and sat in the passenger seat. The seat felt warm under my backside.. Went for a short drive. Felt the passenger seat with my hand and it felt warm toward the back of the seat, cooler nearer the front. (Incidentally found out if one gets out of the car and tries to open the passenger door it will still be locked, even though carrying the smart key.. Logical but confused me briefly ) Just read through the Lexus-tech docs regarding seat heater function and there is no mention of a seat occupancy sensor (other than the seat belt buckle fastened/unfastened) but did discover that the seat has a set temp area (under one's buttocks) and variable temp areas (under one's thighs and shoulder/back area. These are controlled by the A/C amplifier and changes in response from the seat temp sensor and cabin air temp. So, it appears the RC will heat the seats whether they are occupied or not
  10. Broken wires in the loom where it goes from the car body to the boot lid?
  11. No price quoted as they have yet to be announced. As the 250ml bottle of concentrate only costs £1.48 I have a feeling the tablet(s) will be similar price. He wasn't clear on whether they would be individual or multi-packs. He did show me a single tablet pack, bit like a spectacle lens wipe sachet. The tablet was dark blue and quite granular, perhaps more the size of and extra strong mint but obviously small enough to fit down the opening of the wash bottle. These tabs look similar and obviously Lexus won't be making them, just repackaging ...
  12. Popped into my dealership and had them look it over. Nothing of concern, keep an eye on wear but suggested just as I'd thought, a stone trapped at some point. On a side note, I was speaking with the parts guy as i purchased some screen concentrate, he showed me what Lexus is moving over to instead of fluid concentrate. A small tablet, a bit bigger than a Polo, to treat 5ltr down to -5C. Should see us through a normal UK winter. All to save the planet, apparently. More eco friendly, less plastic packaging etc., etc.
  13. Yes, the scoring is significant, easily felt, the lower groove particularly
  14. Came out to the car this morning, first time in days, to see this. Not there last time I cleaned the car, less than 30 miles ago.. NSF disc OSF disc Car drives and brakes fine. No unusual noises, certainly no screeching.
  15. Slow and unpredictable? As, in Normal mode, the transmission has only one 'gear' the 'box is always predictable. The system brings up the engine revs as required and in line with what one experiences with a traditional auto box in kickdown. Put the car into Sport (or Sport+) mode and instantly one has clearly defined "gears". Place the transmission into 'S' mode and one can have instant, 'PlayStation' like gear changes at the touch of a shift paddle. Change down in preparation for an overtake is just as one would experience from a manual gearbox. IMHO the E-CVT transmission is the best 'automatic' style transmission I've ever experienced. Add in the relatively simple mechanics one has a very reliable, flexible and responsive transmission.
  16. I feel the real world performance of my RC300h is much 'faster' than might be expected from it's stated 0-60 of 8sec. Mid-range acceleration is impressive and makes for fast, safe overtakes. As posted above take one out for an extended test drive ..
  17. I think I'm correct in saying not all models and years had self healing top coat. My RCs both did/do The only advice I've read regarding the use of DAS polishers is that the heat they can generate can cause issue with the self healing as this is activated by heat (as in sunlight) Lexus recommend not to use abrasive polishes on those models with self healing top coats
  18. Sorry, I should have phrased my answer more clearly. If the rear seats are unoccupied one can select not to ventilate/heat/condition the rear cabin area. Rear Seat heating/ventilation (if you have the option) would be a separate control
  19. Must admit the ML in the courtesy NX I had recently did sound quite 'thin' compared with that in my RC. Regarding the switch between hybrid and petrol it was seamless, the car had only 300 miles on the clock.
  20. "So why do Lexus parts HAVE to be expensive?" Simple answer is they don't but Lexus/Toyota want to project an image of luxury, so price accordingly. Plus they don't have a huge turnover on parts as the cars are built up to a higher level of quality, rather than down to a price. Plus I'm sure the £500 part will have been made/quality controlled to a higher and tighter spec than the cheaper ones.
  21. Called S-Flow, if the rear seats are unoccupied one can select to only ventilate/heat/condition the front. This improves efficiency but may depending on ambient and cabin temps be over-ridden by the system. https://d24bc9lyrt5en5.cloudfront.net/Customer-Portal-Admin/emanuals/LEXUS/OM53D19E.pdf
