  1. No personal experience but looking at their website they proudly proclaim - "We are the ADAS calibration specialists We calibrate to the manufacturer's required standard." Interestingly that calibration is not included in their guarantee - "Our calibration of any advanced driver assistance systems will be true and correct at the time of being performed and will not be the subject of our guarantee." Presumably once "true and correct" it (the calibration) shouldn't change? I wonder how one checks this "true and correct" calibration before accepting the car back? Can one test drive it to check things such as Lane departure warning is operating as expected? Or can one accept the car but with the proviso one can return if any of the systems malfunction? What time-scale? As John suggests above get some form of assurance, in writing, before booking the job (which I presume must be done in one of their depots, as opposed to one one's driveway? Another question to ask)
  2. I would get brake judder after a lot of town driving, in my CLS55 but this disappeared after a couple of high speed stops. The most common cause of brake judder is not ensuring that the disc to hub interface is spotlessly clean when replacing the discs. Just the smallest spec of rust and crud can throw the disc out and after a period of use cause judder or more descriptively, a pulsing on application.
  3. I'd wager they are all plastic , they are on my RC If there isn't an option in the dash menu to disable the beep it may be a dealer only (as in Techstream) setting
  4. Do these act as reflector when not illuminated? Rear reflectors are required and checked during the MoT test
  5. It's always nice to feel one has 'got one over' on the other guy but in all probability the other driver just wasn't trying/paying attention or simply let you go. I remember when driving my CLS55, which could pretty much take anything from the lights (Audi TTs excepted) but often when challenged in the traffic light get-away I would simply keep up rather than blast away. I'm sure there are many youngsters out there thinking "I took that AMG"
  6. Just use the solution recommended in the owner's handbook, or the leather cleaning kit Lexus supply. It's not difficult...
  7. When I enquired about non-brochure combinations on my two RCs I was met each time with the same, very polite but firm, No....
  8. What is your country? Your location is showing London. Dealerships in the countries I mentioned will have stock of used cars.
  9. Any Lexus dealership on the Continent? Holland, Belgium, France?

  11. First thought would be the steering lock engages? Even if this didn't happen power assistance would also stop. Transmission wise nothing drastic, except the car will slow very quickly.
  12. Find the under-bonnet fuse box and follow the loom back to the firewall. Quite often the loom grommet will be in the inner wing to bulkhead join.
  13. Broken wire in the boot hinge area? Instruction from the door/fob controllers not getting through but local instruction from metal key is ok?
  14. A few years ago? That was 1998... What was the outcome? Floor mat intrusion seems to have been discounted in the OP's case
  15. Do you have any radio telescopes, telecommunication stations, government listening stations nearby?
  16. Yes, normal. The engine starts to provide cabin warmth and to bring the engine/transmission/CATs up to operating temp. Not sure on your particular model but on my RC I can force the car to run on EV by pressing the EV button before the ICE fires up.
  17. Would a Toyota service centre be any cheaper? Obviously they would have experience with the hybrid system
  18. Have you, or the previous owner, switched the function off? On my car one can enable and disable the auto function reverting to simple intermittent operation. Should be detailed in your handbook, if this pertains to your model.
  19. Japanese people generally take huge pride in anything they do. I remember marvelling at condition of a refuse collection vehicle that stopped next to us as we walked in Kyoto. It was spotless, polished and burnished. Even the bin lifting mechanism was very clean. The worker's overalls were clean and pressed. The Japanese have a very special attitude to life, people and their environment. Self respect and the respect of others, something we, in the west, could learn a lot from.
