  1. Follow the technician's advice. The 12v battery is only for starting the computers and the entry/exit system. It can drain very quickly in accessory mode. It should be fine in a locked car. That said I'm surprised the car didn't come up with a warning whilst listening to the radio, even shutting it down automatically...
  2. Some of the roads(?) to access the various wineries were very tight 😳 not to mention the total lack of crash barriers on the mountain roads, shear drops of many 100's of metres. Roads generally were very quiet though
  3. Wines flowed freely and very reasonably priced, another advantage of not driving oneself 😉
  4. If just the headliner I'd be tempted to see if Lexus could swap out the black and replace with white.
  5. Gatwick to Porto 😁, sorry I didn't mean to suggest I drove there or whilst there. We were cossetted in an brand new air conditioned Mercedes (cough ) in our travels into the northern mountains then down through the Duro valley and down the spine of the country. Perhaps it shouldn't be surprising as people generally are not that well paid, apparently the average wage is just 750 euro a month.
  6. From the north through the interior to the south and not one single Lexus, of any description, spotted. Nothing. Really surprised..
  7. Probably wise not to share too much information on the web. No point in preparing the nefarious elements out there...
  8. The reg doc says the car was first registered in 2022 but it could be a 2021 model
  9. I've never had an issue with microfibre, laundered at 40c and tumble dried they come out soft as a baby's posterior. If you are experiencing scratching/marking you are doing something wrong!
  10. You don't say what trim level you have, vinyl or leather seats etc.. The owner's handbook usually give basic cleaning recommendations for the various materials. On my leather seats I just gently vacuum and wipe with a damp cloth. If I feel it needs a deeper clean I would use Dr Leather wipes. Lexus recommend a dilute solution of wool detergent in water. On the dash and door trims I dust regularly with a microfibre cloth and a spray of Meguiar's quick interior detailer spray. I would avoid using leather conditioners as any leather would be sealed and impervious to these conditioners and simply leave the surface coated, attracting dust and grit.
  11. I only ever feed my cars with V-Power, no need to but on the miles I do it's not worth worrying about the additional £6 or £7 a tank full and it gives me peace of mind that the fuel system is being kept clean...
  12. I had a red interior in my Mercedes C class, it divided opinions but generally was applauded. I also had red in my second RC, similar comments again I think a red interior is a statement and one that you must feel comfortable with... How about a Hazel or clove colour interior as I had in the red RC, I think it would go well with a black exterior, quite classy? I found the red did take a bit of looking after, depending on one's daily attire but nowhere near a much as the clove. Black does have it's advantages!
  13. Because they only 'cloning' the signal not the physical components
  14. I've always used Nextzett gummi pflege stift on all my rubber seals at least twice a year. Prevents them freezing shut in the colder months. https://www.amazon.co.uk/nextzett-91480615-Rubber-Stick-White/dp/B004B8GTQG/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=gummi-pflege&qid=1693580246&sr=8-5
  15. Not necessarily, the fault that needs the recall was only introduced after yours was built. A completely different batch of (now faulty) components by then
  16. I suppose this is what the Lexus "self-healing" clear coat is meant to reduce/repair. Exposure to heat/sun activates the healing process, according to the handbook.
  17. My handbook specifically states not to use waxes that contain abrasives ...
  18. Toyota production line shut down and investors simply shrug, that's the level of confidence they have in Toyota's resilience .... https://www.moneycontrol.com/europe/?url=https://www.moneycontrol.com/news/opinion/toyota-shuts-factories-investors-shrug-thats-resilience-11281081.html&classic=true
  19. Which model and year, exactly, do you have?
  20. You only need to disable the intrusion and tilt sensors during a ferry crossing. The button is usually in the overhead control panel, a button with a picture of the car with a wavy pattern inside. If you have the NX450+ it's on the shortcut menu touch screen
  21. Never noticed anything like that in any RX I've sat in. My F-Sport is very comfortable (as was the F-Sport RC I had previously) and I've done a number of extended, non-stop drives of 4-5hrs without any discomfort.
  22. WD40 is a Water Displacement spray not a lubricant...
  23. What was the "other stuff" you did to the car?
  24. Glad I signed up with SAGA and their 3yr fixed premium. That'll take me through to 2025 and then, of course it will be Maybe I'll save enough over these next 2yrs to cover the 4th year increase ...
  25. It matters not what one pays for a second hand car, it's the list price when new that determines the VED
