  1. Certainly was the other way round on both my 2016 and 2019 RC300h cars. The system can be set up to automatically reduce the setting as the seat heats up. That means one switches seat heater on and all 3 leds illuminate and then as the seat warms up it automatically goes to 2 leds then 1 led. So, in effect, the seats feel warmer at the 1 led setting.
  2. Because Musk has dropped the price of new cars considerably over the last few months. They are just not worth what they were...
  3. Ctrl+F and enter your search phrase?
  4. You don't need WiFi, just download the pdf from the Lexus website onto your device and it's there whenever you need it.
  5. Not so much cost cutting as moving with the times. A pdf handbook is much easier to search through. As already said Lexus can supply you with a paper copy on request but just "consider the environment" before requesting 😉
  6. As the current generation of car buyer appears to be more concerned with "does my Spotify account sync with my car" rather than how does the car drive/ride/perform I don't think the next generation will give any thought to the sound of a car. In fact it will be a blessing being so quiet as it won't detract from them listening to the latest xyz podcast ...
  7. It's not a problem with the battery. It's only designed to power on the computer and monitor the access systems. If you sit listening to the radio leave the car in Ready mode and the traction battery will power everything with the engine cutting in when needed to recharge the traction battery. Leaving the car in IGN or ACCES mode will kill the little 12v battery in no time, as my salesman discovered when demonstrating the car to me!
  8. I had a UX as a courtesy car a couple of times and quite enjoyed the experience. It certainly didn't feel cheap or inferior to my then RC. That's my opinion. I don't know the specification of the materials used or how they compared with those in my RC but, in my opinion, they appeared and felt very acceptable. Your opinion clearly differs but you cannot state objectively that the UX trim material is inferior. What criteria/specification are you using? Just your subjective assessment, no more right or wrong than my subjective assessment.
  9. I think the point here is that this would be seen as your opinion (subjective), unless you can support that view with an independent assessment/references
  10. Surely the disc is clamped tightly between the road wheel and the hub when the wheel bolts are tightened? Have you checked the disc holes on the other wheels?
  11. And they have in the current crop of new models.
  12. It's the age old argument, done to death on many websites/forums. Yes Lexus cars share much from the Toyota line-up. What makes a Lexus a Lexus is the additional sound deadening, higher quality materials in the cabin and yes, the badge. As Toyota and Lexus are essentially the same company one should naturally expect a degree of cross-over but one can certainly tell the two apart. Lexus don't have to defend their price premium, they offer, one buys, or one doesn't. The choice is one's own.
  13. One doesn't have to accept it, buy a different marque. Manufacturers have always, since time immemorial, differentiated between trim levels by 'omitting' certain functions. It's unashamedly a way to get the buyer to spend more by 'upgrading' to get what they think they 'need'.
  14. Not if the car is stored in a shipping container, unless you go for a Thatcham approved VHF enabled unit
  15. Somewhat underwhelming ...
  16. From the .gov website "The vehicle’s original registration number is usually reassigned to it automatically when you take off a private number." https://www.gov.uk/personalised-vehicle-registration-numbers/take-private-number-off
  17. I find the HUD a huge benefit with regard to watching speed and the road ahead.
  18. The Japanese hate the smell of leather, their new cars don't have a leather smell, unlike Mercs or other Euro boxes.
  19. By law manufacturers cannot allow their speedometers under read, so generally they allow up to 10% over read.
  20. The multimedia unit will have WiFi but it needs a mobile phone or nearby network to do anything useful, it cannot connect to the web independently.
  21. I don't know if the NX can be optioned with WiFi Hotspot module but after the initial period the data plans are, if anything like the RX, quite eye watering 😳
  22. Perhaps not clear in my OP but the road was empty of traffic as far as one could see and the Tesla didn't actually attain high speed, perhaps 60-70mph (within the speed limit for that stretch of road), it was simply the astonishing (to me), no drama, acceleration. Personally I enjoy the sound and drama of a big V8+supercharger
  23. Does the handbook show the larger size as an option? If not there may not be space, your insurer may have an opinion on the modification
  24. I was waiting in the dealership this afternoon and overheard the service receptionist say " We'll book the 250 thousand mile service" I didn't catch what model it was unfortunately 🥺
