  1. "Check the reservoir level"??? I just wait for the screen wash low indicator to come on! 😎 (I do take the point of checking before a long journey though 👍)
  2. Pretty sure it details this in the handbook. It's the same with my RC and RX. Well also on my previous mercedes....
  3. Radar controlled cruise control still tries to drive at the max speed set. I find it quite aggressive when the slower traffic moves away, certainly accelerates more quickly than I would normally. With all the systems on the Lexus, far more driver adjustable settings than on the Mercs, I'm still amazed they haven't included a speed limiter or even a hard limiter for when winter tyres are fitted. Both quite common on German marques. I wonder if it's a regs thing in Japan?
  4. But it doesn't, that's the point. With cruise control one is always at the max speed without any input from the driver. With a speed limiter set one can drive freely at any speed below that limit. It simply stops one from unintentionally over-speeding.
  5. I've not come across a speed limiter on a Lexus, as is offered by the likes of Mercedes. It's something I miss, coming from MB. I found setting the limiter to, say 30 mph allows one to stay within urban limits without being at the limit, as one would with cruise control
  6. The clear coat on our cars is "self-healing" using heat from the sun (or heat lamps) to correct minor blemishes/swirls/marring. The Sonic Red on my RC seemed very sensitive to bird droppings, the Azure Blue on the second RC not quite so bad and the F Sport White on the RX (not ceramic coated) virtually immune!
  7. Yes, on my RC boot lid. Lexus dealership took it in and polished out the blemishes. My car was ceramic coated. Bird droppings are very aggressive and if not removed at once will etch into the top coat.
  8. You car appears to be LHD, so not in the UK? As the cars are designed in Japan, where they drive on the left, the wipers do tend to 'favour' the right-hand side of the screen. Has this with German designed Mercs..
  9. As described in the handbook
  10. How often does one get a flat tyre? When was the last time one needed to use a spare tyre?
  11. I don't know for sure but I would guess that the dealership will not do anything that costs them money, as in workshop time, unless there is a request made.
  12. The ventilated seats in the RC didn't really perform until the a/c had cooled the cabin down and there was a good supply of cooled air under the seats. They worked but not terribly effective. Curiously the ventilated seats in the RX cool one's derriere remarkably effectively from the moment one (or the climate concierge function) enables them! So much so I had to up the cabin temperature to avoid "cold ache" in my nether regions. Once adjusted I must say the RX has the best climate control I've ever experienced.
  13. As I understand it all english speaking regions get the American english version. The handbooks I've seen are universal for LHD and RHD, the differences are detailed in the handbook. The spelling is always US english
  14. Certainly was the other way round on both my 2016 and 2019 RC300h cars. The system can be set up to automatically reduce the setting as the seat heats up. That means one switches seat heater on and all 3 leds illuminate and then as the seat warms up it automatically goes to 2 leds then 1 led. So, in effect, the seats feel warmer at the 1 led setting.
  15. Because Musk has dropped the price of new cars considerably over the last few months. They are just not worth what they were...
  16. Ctrl+F and enter your search phrase?
  17. You don't need WiFi, just download the pdf from the Lexus website onto your device and it's there whenever you need it.
  18. Not so much cost cutting as moving with the times. A pdf handbook is much easier to search through. As already said Lexus can supply you with a paper copy on request but just "consider the environment" before requesting 😉
  19. As the current generation of car buyer appears to be more concerned with "does my Spotify account sync with my car" rather than how does the car drive/ride/perform I don't think the next generation will give any thought to the sound of a car. In fact it will be a blessing being so quiet as it won't detract from them listening to the latest xyz podcast ...
  20. It's not a problem with the battery. It's only designed to power on the computer and monitor the access systems. If you sit listening to the radio leave the car in Ready mode and the traction battery will power everything with the engine cutting in when needed to recharge the traction battery. Leaving the car in IGN or ACCES mode will kill the little 12v battery in no time, as my salesman discovered when demonstrating the car to me!
  21. I had a UX as a courtesy car a couple of times and quite enjoyed the experience. It certainly didn't feel cheap or inferior to my then RC. That's my opinion. I don't know the specification of the materials used or how they compared with those in my RC but, in my opinion, they appeared and felt very acceptable. Your opinion clearly differs but you cannot state objectively that the UX trim material is inferior. What criteria/specification are you using? Just your subjective assessment, no more right or wrong than my subjective assessment.
  22. I think the point here is that this would be seen as your opinion (subjective), unless you can support that view with an independent assessment/references
  23. Surely the disc is clamped tightly between the road wheel and the hub when the wheel bolts are tightened? Have you checked the disc holes on the other wheels?
