  1. Something like this perhaps? https://www.hozelock.com/product/long-car-brush-pro/
  2. Try it, perfect around town and in those motorway roadworks 👍
  3. The trouble with setting cruise control is that the vehicle will always drive at the maximum speed, which may not be the safe speed for the conditions. What I really miss in my Lexus is what (nearly) all Mercedes have and that is a soft speed limiter, where one sets (in a similar fashion as one sets CC) the maximum speed to which one can accelerate but the car doesn't try and maintain that speed the driver still has complete control up to the set limit. Much better system for not exceeding the speed limit IMHO I wonder why more marques don't include this?
  4. There is no excuse for not renewing one's road tax, if one desires to continue using the car but the automatic fine is for not declaring SORN, which is the default condition of not having road tax.
  5. From .gov website.. (my highlighting) "You must insure and tax your vehicle if you do not have a SORN. If you do not, you’ll automatically be fined £80 for not having a SORN. There’s also a fine for having an uninsured vehicle. https://www.gov.uk/sorn-statutory-off-road-notification?
  6. If you are driving in such a manner that the VSC is "ruining" your enjoyment I suggest you should be driving on track not the public highway. I'm pretty sure if you had an accident and your insurer discovered the disabled safety system you'd be in deep waters and no cover. How about sourcing or building a track car and having your fun that way?
  7. Does fitting a towbar have no effect on insurance premiums? Personally I'd have the dual electrics fitted as it makes it more flexible and possibly easier to move on. Is it significantly more expensive? I would also check out prices from a specialist towbar fitter unless the car is financed, in which case the finance company may have a view on who does the job?
  8. Are you stopped with transmission in Neutral?
  9. My first RC had this, not bad but noticeable only because the cabin is otherwise so quiet. My second RC, facelift version has redesigned door mirrors, also has it but significantly less. As commented it seems worse when blustery, particularly crosswinds.
  10. Caustic soda definitely works but can work too well, actually dissolving the pipe or the joints! Spilling it on skin can lead to permanent tissue damage and in the eyes, blindness. One-Shot works well but carries the same caveats as caustic soda. It can also be difficult to source since the acid attacks of recent years. If you do use these highly caustic or acidic cleaners wear thick rubber gloves and eye protection. Also a good idea to spread petroleum jelly around the plughole to help protect it from corrosion. As you pipe is only semi blocked I'd try one of the modern enzymatic cleaners. It uses bacteria to eat it's way through the sludge. Best added last thing at night and left to work overnight. Won't damage the fitting, or you and is environmentally OK.
