  1. Just be aware the handbook will detail all the options available on the car, whether fitted or not. Double check for the "* if fitted"
  2. One of these (someone's nicked the badge from the steering wheel boss)?
  3. Mine came with a sticker in the windscreen and a tote bag of solutions for aftercare. After 2yrs probably not a help though. To be honest it's probably not worth worrying about it. If you want paint protection get it done on whichever car you decide on. Find a reputable detailer, will do a better job than most dealerships.
  4. Ditto on my RC300h, took two days at the specialist company Lexus use. To be done correctly the car will have it's suspension geometry double checked and corrected if needed.
  5. You could try these guys? https://www.amayama.com/en/catalogs/lexus/sc430/2-open-left-z40-2001-3907/transmission-and-chassis-2/front-spring-shock-absorber-152 How many miles has the car done? Might be wise to change both sides at the same time. What are Lexus asking for the part?
  6. Is the car garaged? Do you have safe access to mains electricity? If yes something like a CTEK maintenance charger would be perfect, it's what they are designed to do, keep the 12v battery topped up over long periods of inactivity. The attached doc describes how Toyota/Lexus maintain the batteries both 12v and traction during storage Maintenance of hybrid battery.pdf
  7. Approx £3 per litre from B&Q. Gardeners use it for heating their greenhouses....
  8. Personally I never wear a jacket or coat when driving, rarely when a passenger. Cars have very efficient heaters these days! I imagine should one use the seat heater you may get wax transfer and staining. I just wouldn't risk it, take it off and throw it in the boot
  9. I had the screen replaced in my RC after a rock put a big chip in it. Lexus do not fit windscreens (I asked, they just get one of the big companies in to do it), I had no issues with National Windscreens. The guy they sent out was very experienced and took great care. The screen was Lexus original and I had to wait quite a few weeks for it to arrive from somewhere in Europe. The guy said it had to be a Lexus supplied screen as the model was too recent and too few sold for the pattern makers to bother making screens for it. Calibration was done a couple of weeks later and it took two days at a specialist company, Lexus and many other marques all use the same facility as the equipment required is too specialised and it requires a large area to work in.
  10. Land Rover to recall models to retrofit hightened security https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2023/11/02/jaguar-land-rover-retrofit-thousands-cars-security-thefts/
  11. I was invited to view both my new cars before they had undergone any dealer preparation. Each time the car was extensively covered in white film on the panels. The alloys were protected by hard plastic 'discs' and the seats and steering wheel had soft plastic covers. The floor was protected with paper covers. Attached is the PDS document for the RC (2015, not sure if anything will have changed for newer models). As the D/C Cut fuse is removed at the assembly plant I wonder how they move the cars around? A number of ECUs require initialisation when the fuse is replaced, seat ecu, parking guidance ecu. The TMPS has to be started as this is disabled at the plant as the radio wave frequency doesn't comply with Japan regs. So, apart from preparing the bodywork there's a fair bit to do... 12. Once the car arrives at the dealership it can take a week to prepare for the handover. Obviously depends on how busy they are. My first took 7 days, the second 3 days. Actual handover allow a couple of hours, depends on the paperwork and how detailed the salesman is in explaining the cars functions etc,.

  14. Yup, I can still see the 500h and the 450h Sport Design You have to scroll to the right when at the "Choose your engine" and CHOOSE YOUR GRADE: 9 Options
  15. From the handbook Raising the wipers to the service position Within approximately 45 seconds of turning the power switch off, move the wiper lever to the ^ position and hold it for approximately 2 seconds or more. https://www.lexus.co.uk/customer/manuals#/pdf/PZ471-9A546-EN
  16. It can be very difficult to find, it took me ages to find the one in my RC!
  17. It became a requirement from 2020, all new models sold after that date must have LKA enabled by default at each restart of the car. The function can only be temporarily disabled by the driver. Here's a good read ... https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2019/2144/oj
  18. Shouldn't the car notify with a dash message when the fob battery gets low?
  19. You would be happy paying 2 weeks short stay parking charges???? Another wind-up ...
  20. Lexus will do something, fit CANBUS protection plates, free of charge ...
