Try one of the online calculators like this https://www.willtheyfit.com/ The bottom line is one must keep the rolling diameter within tolerance or one can upset all sorts of things, speedometer accuracy being one thing

I suppose easier to check the electrics first? One could test with a multimeter. Was the diagnostic test done using Techstream?

I would change the injector and fix the engine correctly. You alternative proposal would leave the car illegal for road use (with knock on insurance issues) and an MoT failure.
