  1. Has the steering wheel been removed and refitted at any time? The self-cancelling could be affected by the wheel being off centre, biasing one side over the other.
  2. Just be aware EU/UK colours sometimes get different names from those in North America for the same code
  3. I have varifocals and have the photochromic coating along with the anti-glare coat. The later I thought was on the inside (facing one's eye) surface to help eliminate reflected glare, not that from oncoming lights? I find the glasses work well enough and haven't noticed any detrimental effects when driving. The modern photochromic coating actually works quite effectively behind glass, older coatings didn't react at all..
  4. Quite correct information and one can reduce the times the engine starts by turning off the climate control, this is what techs do when the car is in the workshop. I just wish they could remember to turn it back on when finished, the number of times I wondered why I'm so hot (summer) or cold (winter) only to realise the climate is off! I must admit I've never put the car into Ready mode simply when cleaning the car. Unless one habitually leaves the doors open there should be no additional drain on the 12v battery. Just remember to leave the key fob far enough away so the doors don't constantly lock and unlock as water goes over the door handles..
  5. I did it on my RX450h using the meter control switches under the PBD menu section
  6. Doesn't exist.. I watched when our carpet was fitted and the guys put new blades in every 6 cuts or so. Well they had the snap off to renew type. No blade keeps it's edge in use, just depends what you are cutting as to how quickly it blunts.
  7. One can gain access to the Lexus tech docs on all the car's functions, for a small fee, by going to https://www.lexus-tech.eu/Default.aspx and creating a free account. Some information requires payment but there's lots of free access stuff as well. The attached doc I downloaded for my 2016 RC300h and it details the control and operation of the AVS system. I can't believe the basic function would be that different model to model ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION SYSTEM CONTROL ADAPTIVE VARIABLE SUSPENSION CONTROL.pdf
  8. One can adjust the volume of the beeping I have set to the lowest volume, it's barely audible.
  9. If anything like the RC300h or the RX450h then it's always active and adjusting to the road conditions and your driving style. When in S or S+ then it will firm up the suspension but it is always adjusting itself to control pitch and roll. The Lexus AVS is far more accomplished than the AIRmatic was on my AMG 👍
  10. Good luck with that, you might strike it lucky with the one knowledgeable salesperson!
  11. Download the Nav manual from the Lexus website https://www.lexus.co.uk/owners/about-my-lexus/manuals
  12. It's not that clear cut... Is it illegal to engine idle in a driveway? The legality of idling on a private driveway depends on its classification as a road. The rules aren’t entirely clear. Annex 4 of The Highway Code states that references to ‘road’ “generally include footpaths, bridleways and cycle tracks, and many roadways and driveways on private land (including many car parks)”. https://www.rac.co.uk/drive/advice/emissions/idling/
  13. IIRC the second set should be recognised automatically when fitted on the car, if the codes have previously been registered with the system. When registering the second set make sure the previous set of wheels are placed well away from the car... Details are in the owner's handbook
  14. I believe Lexus is prioritising owners in the Greater London area. Those out in the sticks are done on request
  15. I clean the wiper blades every time I clean the windscreen, which can be anything between 2-3 times a week. I also replace the blades at every service (12 months)
  16. I had the screen replaced on my RC when a stone cracked it. The car was only just a year old.. As I recall the new screen (genuine Lexus) was completely covered, both sides, with a plastic film. This was only removed immediately prior to fitting.
  17. Tha actual MoT ruling is light source incompatible with the headlamp unit. The headlamp designed for halogen bulbs cannot be used to house HiD or LED light sources.
  18. I can recommend Lexus Swindon, bit closer than Reading
  19. Ours is the cyclone V10 but any of the V series would be fine
  20. I use a Dyson, works very well
  21. The handbook details how to replace the 12v battery yourself but as above is it worth the risk? Get a professional to do it and if the worst should happen they would have to sort it. My preference would be a Lexus dealer, who would have support from Japan should it be needed.
  22. How about putting the transmission in Neutral and pushing it?
  23. Quite possibly. Can you get the car into the Ready state and is the traction battery charged? If yes then start the car normally and press the EV button within 5sec to force it to use the traction battery without starting the engine. Obviously it will only move a couple of 100m at most, depending on charge level. You must be careful not to depress the accelerator too far or the engine will fire up, or try to in your case. This is based on how my 2016 RC and 2020 RX operate
