  1. SAGA charged the standard £75 for what turned out to be the genuine Lexus screen in my RC
  2. Any 5 layer paint such as the Azure Blue will be virtually impossible to touch up. I had a stone chip on the leading edge of the bonnet on my Sonic Red RC300h and was quoted £1200 to respray the complete bonnet. I just left it... That bonnet was ceramic coated and as posted above, ceramics do not protect against stone chips or scratches. Great for quick cleaning and look great for a long time but there's no physical protection. Stone chips are a fact of driving life unfortunately...
  3. No card slot... Managed to find our way to Burgh Island ok, it's only our 17th visit 😉 let party commence 🥳
  4. Ah! That's an idea. My old RC had a card but this one has ML and no little flap. Shall have a search this morning 👍
  5. Not checked but as you say, the screen works fine so assume all is well with the sensor. As posted before, it's as if the sat nav function was never installed. There are no options or links, buttons or tabs to call up the maps or destination list. The physical Map button above the touch pad does nothing, not a flicker on the display. I don't even have the compass/direction indicator in the multifunction display in the speedo.
  6. Yes, previously successfully used the app to transfer destinations to the car. The app still has all my saved destinations but the send to car button is inoperative. The app successfully locates the car's current position, so there is some sort of online connectivity. It's all very strange!
  7. Well, that's got the techs at Lexus scratching their heads! Will need to book in after our trip away as diagnostics shows nothing, there just is no sat nav! It's like it was never installed ...
  8. I'd have thought if the system was doing an OTA update there would be some sort of notification screen. It's just that everything to do with the nav function has disappeared!
  9. Just popped out to the car to check our destination is ready for our trip tomorrow and there's no Navigation option, no maps, no Destination option, nothing... !! Radio works and Climate and Phone screens are there working as expected, just nothing connected with navigation. Not even in the speedo cluster, just blank! Phoned the dealer and was advised the system most likely going through an OTA update, check again in 1/2hr. Apparently they (the dealership) has had a number of calls from customers saying their sat nav is playing up. I didn't know my 2019 model was capable of OTA updates. Not maps update but a system update. Most curious
  10. Definitely! Cruise control where speed can be maintained comfortably.
  11. I miss the speed limiter from my Mercs, very useful in urban traffic were one can't keep a constant speed (as with the cruise control) but doesn't want to stray above the speed limit. When the speed limiter is set one can drive normally without the constant worry about inadvertently speeding.
  12. Every car I've had allows one to run the heater without a/c but i'd have to ask why would you? Running the a/c keeps the seals lubricated helping to prevent refrigerant loss. The system operates so much better when set to auto and a/c on all year round.
  13. On a slight tangent, we used sound bombs (audio canons) to protect secure rooms and I installed on in my car but removed it fearful it might go off unintentionally!! We also used 'clicker' blinders at night. Sensors would detect intruders and a gentle clicking noise would attract their gaze (it's almost impossible to not look in the direction of a sound in the dark) and then an adjacent xenon flash would go off temporarily blinding the intruders. That and the sound bomb usually left them disorientated enough for the security guards to apprehend them.
  14. My car sits on my driveway and has no additional security measures apart from a faraday pouch for the key fobs.
  15. If you want to deter theft then something highly visible would be more effective. AutoGhost won't stop them from breaking into the car.
  16. It's going to be standard on the new NX Takumi I wonder what the advantages it has over the plain auto-dimming mirror?
