  1. Air in the system? You need to bleed the system all through
  2. All cars. It's far safer to have understeer than oversteer. https://kumhotyre.co.uk/kumho-news/should-you-fit-new-tyres-to-the-front-or-rear/ https://www.oponeo.co.uk/blog/better-tyres-in-the-front-or-back-test-results
  3. It's recommended to put new(er) tyres with greater tread depth on the rear. Most tyre shops would insist on this as a safety thing
  4. Mine are on permanently and I have left them at the factory settings. They function as expected when parking or manoeuvring. I just put it down to the highly hydrophobic paint finish shedding water, which also means I cannot get into the car without water dripping off the roof and on to the seat bolster and me!
  5. If the 12v battery was flat how was the car unlocked? How was the car 'woken up' and into which state?
  6. Looks like a door sill trim? Do you have illuminated sills on the car?
  7. What do you mean by "going into fault"? My RC parking sensors often beep when drawing to a stop at lights in cooler weather or in rain. Presumably as the water runs down the bonnet etc., over the sensor. In cooler weather it tends to be the fronts that sound, again presumably as the warmer air from under the bonnet affects them by distorting the air in front of them. I had this a lot in my AMG as the 5.5ltr pumped out a lot of heat!
  8. In the hybrid car there is no starter motor the engine is spun up by one of the electric motors, powered by the traction battery. The 12v battery simply operates the entry system and boots up the computers. Once in the Ready state all electrics are powered by the traction battery. The traction battery will never be depleted too low to start the engine in normal use i.e. after a run the battery will have the required charge.
  9. Sorry I'm not explaining it very well. There is a separate software update that updates the 'operating' system of the sat nav, not the mapping data. This second software update must be done using the USB route
  10. I believe the update is already available. I think it's the act of updating the maps that cancels the alerts rather than the map version (if that makes sense) A member of this forum has sorted this problem, hopefully he will see this thread and respond..
  11. There have been reports of the map update cancelling the speed camera alerts. Apparently it requires a software update.
  12. Definitely nothing in the boot? Under the floor? Loos heat shielding around the exhaust or the exhaust itself, knocking against the underfloor?
  13. Pretty much all (<95%) automotive leather is PU coated and sealed. All these proprietary preparations do nothing to feed or nourish these leathers and can if over applied leave a sticky film that attracts grit, accelerating damage. Of utmost importance is to keep seats free from dried on dirt and grit, which if left in creases, will grind away at the coating causing cracks and the damage is done. I routinely (weekly) wipe down my seats and seat backs with a damp microfibre after carefully vacuuming with a soft brush attachment. I do use the executive leather care kit supplied by Lexus, perhaps 2-3 times a year. This deep cleans the surface and reapplies the protectant applied at the factory. I did have a naked nappa leather retrim in my Mercedes, looked incredible, was beautifully soft and comfortable leather (actually not that dissimilar in feel to the leather in my RC!) but my word, was it hard work to keep clean. Being naked it needed careful cleaning and nourishing at least once a fortnight. Dye transfer was always a problem. My local dealership had very strict instructions on keeping the seats covered during service. All the techs knew not to touch the leather with greasy hands! Never again...
  14. Pictures would be interesting. Wearing in just 6 months? Surely just light creasing?
