  2. Have a word with any local auto upholsterer. I had aftermarket heating elements fitted to the rear seats in my C class when I had them retrimmed. There are many makes of element that slips under the leather covers.
  3. Is your IS manual or automatic? The handbook seems to show the glow plug indicator will illuminate and then go out before the engine cranks until it starts or for up to 30sec, whichever is sooner only if the car is a manual. The section detailing the start procedure for the auto version simply says the engine will crank until it starts or for up to 30 sec whichever is sooner. Where all diesel IS manuals?
  4. If the Power button works the same sequence as my RC then it would need to be pressed twice without the brake pedal depressed to get into Ignition on mode (first press is Accessory mode). I'd imagine the glow plugs would be energised in Ignition mode, rather than accessory mode, or they would be on when just listening to the radio (for example) ? I would think this would all be detailed in the handbook?

  6. A generalisation, I'm sure there are good and bad out there. My dealership uses a local detailer to do their paintwork corrections and coatings.
  7. In my experience of two cars ceramic coated from new, it does not protect against scratches or wash marring/swirls. What it does do is maintain the gloss and shine of the paint and makes it so much easier to keep clean. As above the term 'ceramic' leads one to believe a hard protective coating but no. With regard to your repairs, the polished areas should really be recoated and it actually specifies this in my documentation supplied with the car.
  8. Take the car to someone with Techstream and get the codes read. When was the last time the atf was checked or changed. How many miles on the clock? What year is the car and where are you located?

  10. I didn't say it was? Lexus CS should be ideally placed to provide the answer but I bet they also will only trot out the legally vetted response. They really should be taking the customer's VIN, going back to Lexus tech.eu or Japan and getting an email response giving a clear and unequivocal answer for the customer.
  11. No dealership will confirm/deny verbally as they would then be liable but they really should be able to point the enquirer to an official statement
