  1. So, 800 miles in, 3 tanks of fuel at less than £50 each (first tank free as the car came with a full tank) 45.6 mpg mixed motorway and A Road driving, without a reset between tanks. Can’t complain. I have a few long distance trips throughout October, so will try out Eco mode and AGC and see if that makes any difference. Longest trip in one hit with no stops 204 miles. Seats are awesome.
  2. Hi, I am still playing at the moment, I have a couple of long distance trips in October and November, I may try it out on a run down to Plymouth. I did notice today coming back from Leeds that in ECO Mode, EV Mode kicks in when coasting at 60mph.
  3. Week 1 - Fuel Performance. 50 miles - 32.6 mpg mixed driving in all modes. 1st Tanks of Fuel 142 miles - 40.7 mpg A roads and Motorways - Normal Mode. 1st Tank of Fuel. 202 miles - 37.5 mpg A roads and Motorway - Sport + Mode. 1st Tank of Fuel. 412 miles - 43.3 mpg Motorways - Adaptive Cruise - 60 - 70 mph - Normal Mode. 1st Tank of Fuel. 624 miles - 45.9 mpg Motorways - Adaptive Cruise - 60 - 70 mph - Normal Mode. 2nd Tank of Fuel - filled up at quarter of a tank. Cannot complain at the moment.
  4. I had the same issue, to get to the WiFi and online settings needs a longer swipe down on the trackpad
  5. If you have the ML System, Bluetooth doesn’t let you play Hi Fi or Master quality tracks if using Tidal
  6. Re the comment on the ML System, it’s a blinding system if you play master files via Tidal, and even if streaming Hifi or lesser files, live music plays exceptionally well provided you play with the settings. The track pad is a **** to use on first use, but if you’re getting into one of these cars the track pad is relatively easy to use after a couple of days with the left hand on the move, and I am only 200 miles in, having come from an IS300h Advance with stock system and rotary dial. The fisheye camera - I agree, on my reversing camera on the fisheye setting, it’s pants. I wouldn’t rate the ES as a lesser to the IS in terms of premiumness, it’s quite a leap upwards from the IS provided you go for the F Sport with Takumi pack or the Takumi, otherwise you get stuck with the stock sound system and stock lights both of which belong on something other than a Lexus. I couldn’t comment on the newer GS as a comparison as I have never really liked the recent GS Models. I don’t agree at all that the ES is comparable to Skoda Superb, VW Passat or Insignia - all of these are way off the mark from the ES, that said, in terms of overall pitch, it’s not quite on par with a 5 Series, A6 or E Class, and nor should it be when considering the cost for cost comparison against specs - it’s a nice in between normal cars and MB/BMW without breaking the bank. This last point especially on UK Reviews is something that is lost by most reviewers as a comparable BM/Merc/Audi in the same spec can be £10k plus on the list price.
  7. I also have this cable, using it as described as above, with the lid closed it is an extremely tight fit. I have tucked most of the cable under the centre tunnel (drivers side) and tend to have the cover open while using the car as I use the slot to hold the phone (IPhone X). If you use the cup or bottle holder to secure the phone, it rattles.
  8. I managed to get mine connected to WiFi today (Delivery Date: September 2019) Audio: 1010 Nav: 1520 navb_version: 2019v1 Model ID: DCU 17LD2EU-DB02 Model ID: MEU 17LML2EU-FB00
  9. I have been using ITunes for years through different cars I’ve had, it played with no issues even on the IS300h Advance I had before I got the ES. The difference between ITunes and Tidal in the ES on the ML system is significant. Play a track on itunes and then play the same track on Tidal in either Hifi or Master format and you will be impressed. Live music is excellent on the ML via Tidal in Master.
  10. I have no idea on normal MPG at the moment as I am still messing around with Sport and Sport plus. I have a trip to Leeds and back next week which will be 200 ish miles each way so will be seeing what it does on motorways. Will update after that as may have some fairly decent data. I am expecting 40-48mpg at best and low to mid 30mpg if messing around in Sport modes.
  11. Hey all, Graphite Black, ES300h F Sport Takumi pics in and out with initially less than 40 miles on after I drove home from collecting it and at 140 odd miles from today’s effort. I have only seen one of these on the road since April, probably something to do with living between 2 Lexus dealers and lack of supply. The Takumi Pack is definitely worth investing in on the F Sport. will pen some thoughts at around 500 miles, but I can guarantee one thing for anyone getting into an ES - the first days proper drive, you won’t have a clue what button does what! 3047BA38-B402-421B-BDC0-0AA5CBB7D28D.MOV DCA00B39-97D9-4741-B70B-3E9427677044.MOV 33BF2576-5AA0-400D-8396-1C2E07654B38.MOV 2707F307-2340-4BA6-813F-A92919714080.MOV 4F5501CA-A0C7-439F-80CA-1D7614E05B05.MOV
  12. Rear indicators are LED
  13. I picked my ES up yesterday, on completing the paperwork etc, I asked my dealer if they sold many of these in the UK, he replied the trouble was, getting the cars needed in stock. Currently if you order an ES today delivery is circa 5 months which is great at keeping the residual value up, and gives a bit of exclusivity.
  14. 141 miles in, too early to say, but gets an awful lot of looks in traffic. Drives better than the IS300h did, spent 90 miles this morning figuring out the ML system, works a treat using Tidal on Hifi setting
  15. So new car day happened today, now to learn how to use the sat nav whilst driving....
  16. Price break down looks fair looking at parts and labour breakdown. Insurance assessor has passed the repair, and the repairer now has approval, and the Lexus Dealer has agreed to swap my old car with insurance approval for my new car so I don’t have the down time of being off the road. Got to love no fault claims.
  17. I had a good look at the Camry whilst taking my IS300h in for a bodywork quote. I have had an ES F Sport Takumi on order since April this year that I am collecting tomorrow. Having sat in the Camry, they may be the same platform and drive chain as the Lexus ES, however they are price differently for a reason, the build quality / material is not as good on the Camry compared to the ES. The one thing I did like on the Camry though was the sliding section in front of the drive selector rather than the pop up lis on the ES. Camry pics below, ES pics to follow once collected.
  18. The bumper is cracked around the washer jet
  19. I entered a PCP on my IS300h Advance in 2016. List was 31k, I put £4K into the deal on 20k miles per annum. A different perspective on PCPs is they always say do not “mortgage” miles. I ended up doing way less mileage. Lifetime of the lease was 42 months at £398 a month which the car allowance pays for. Signed up to an ES300h F Sport Takumi in April this year and the trade in value of my IS was £19,500 at 33k miles (was expecting the mileage to be 60-65k by this time). Additionally, I only lost £20.00 of my initial £4K deposit. Having waited for the ES to land which should have been July, but is now September, as the finance deal goes, I have still only lost £20.00 on the initial deposit, The IS is now at 40k miles, and valued at £14k. Being as the IS is being upgraded to the ES, I see this as a £20.00 loss over 3 years given the PCP is covered by my car allowance; that said, depreciation has been £17k from list over the 3 years - £5,666 annually - £472.00 monthly, and for me hasn’t made it a problem over the term of the lease. If I wasn’t on car allowance then I would think differently especially if I was looking at keeping the IS and paying the GFMV at the end of the term. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the IS on the forecourt for around £18 - 19k.
  20. I have had my IS300h from new since 2016. I will be upgrading next week to an ES300h F Sport Takumi. Last Sunday my car was reversed into in a Sainsburys Car Park so I have to get it repaired before swapping over cars. As the IS is going, I have available winter rubber mats for sale - used for 3 winters only then swapped back to OEM Mats, a rubber boot liner and 2 x ash trays (used to keep sweet in them and handy to stop elbows slipping into the cup holders). The total new was around £230.00 new. These won’t fit my new ES, so they are up for sale, if anyone is interested. As I am not on these forums a lot - email: stevewise00@gmail.com, if anyone is interested, please make me an offer. I am based in RG12, postage will be charged on top. If no one is interested by Tuesday next week (17th September) then I will let them go with the car when it goes.
  21. I recently was reversed into in a car park, my IS300h came up with a warming “pop up hood failure”. Albeit I need a new front bumper and radar sensor which is £2.7k in Sonic White, the guys at Lexus said I was lucky because if the pop up hood had activated, the repair would have been around £8k. The gas struts are £1200 each, and the pop up hood is connected to the SRS system. Lucky mine was a no fault claim on the insurance.
  22. I collect mine early next week, once I have it (ES300h F Sport Takumi, Graphite Black, Black interior) i’ll Post some pics
  23. Having ordered my ES300h F Sport Takumi in April 19, I have finally been told the car is in stock and ready for delivery by the end of this week beginning of next week. 5 months wait - soon find out if it was worth the wait - upgrading from my IS300h Advance. Pics to follow once I have collected the car....
  24. I have ordered an ES300h F Sport with Takumi Pack in Graphite Black which is due for delivery late July. In my opinion, the £4K Takumi Pack is worth paying the extra for as the original small screen looks lost on the dashboard, the ML sounds are a must, as I have an IS300h Advance currently without the options on a 16 plate and although the sounds on the stock stereo are ok, they are just ok, but not stunning. The heated steering wheel is a nice touch, as it the sun blind in the back and to top it off, the lighting upgrade is a must as the stock lighting is pants in winter weather if other models are anything to go by. The trade off I have at the moment going from the IS300h Advance to the ES300h F Sport with Takumi Pack is that I lose ventilated seats, but gain a sunroof and a bunch of other extras. The only way I can see getting ventilated seats in an ES300h, is to go for the ES Takumi, which is too rich for me. Although the list price of the car tops the £40k bracket putting the tax up from the £10 a year I pay on the IS at present, the first year is already on the car, and even though I don’t really enjoy paying car tax, if you want the toys, you will need to pay the price. Lastly, the front grille on the standard ES and Takumi is hideous with the vertical bars plus the standard and Takumi models do not give an option in the UK to the same spec as the F Sport with Takumi Pack. Definitely worth the extra per month especially if you plan to buy the car on the final payment of the PCP.
