Neh - it's one of those stupid hybrid things. The EV works up to about..... 3mph and then that dreadful 4 pot kicks in. The only way to drive it is in full on beige mode. Trying to hussle it is stressful.

I have a loaner at the moment, Lexus UX - spanking new. Guess what - the seat moves in the same way. Looks like it's a Lexus / Toyota issue.

I see your point. i think there are two types of drivers, those that will abuse automated systems, and those (such as those that are on this forum) that will welcome anything to assist in safety. As an example, driving down a narrow A road at night, with dazzling on coming traffic, systems like radar cruise act as an extra pair of eyes. With regards to the better systems, I had a Mercedes AMG GT63 for a couple of months and that was very very good. Next gen on from the LC system.

The LC500 lane assist is not as good as many other systems. It's a bit ping pong if you know what I mean.

That makes sense, however, what demand is there for used GSF bits? There are so few, it’s RHD, incredibly reliable, etc. Apart from a joyride, I can’t see a reason to nick a GSF. I sincerely hope I’m right.

Nobody is saying ‘leave the door open’, but there gets to a point where a determined robber may well decide to break in and threaten family. “Tell me the Ghost code or I’ll XYX”. It’s a car! Anyway, what’s the official number of GSFs stolen in this country? I’ve never heard of one. I had one in my possession for almost a year. Nobody even looked at it. I think it’s a far fetched argument that a GSF is going to be nicked to order 😂

But what’s the demand for GS-F spare parts? On another note, if it’s a determined professional attempting the theft, let them have it

Thinking about this. Why would anyone rob a GSF? What would a thief do with one? If I was going to take a car, I’d take a car that was common, where I could dismantle and sell off the parts. Surely (and hopefully), an F car getting nicked is rare?

I totally agree. It’s a car “Have the keys, and would you like a coffee to go? Sugar?”. What’s often forgotten is the psychological impact of having your home violated. It’s not nice.

Thanks for the info Kieran. I hadn't heard of the CAN BUS attack. Personally, I'd rather they just took the car and I never saw it again. Speaking from experience, it's not nice having car thieves in your house in the early hours - especially if they have the balls to ask for the keys / Ghost code etc I think I'll buy some good old fashioned crook locks. May not be the best devices, but at least they are visible.

I'd also add that back in the day, there were many attempts to organise Lexus road trips, but it always seemed that most Lexus enthusiasts prefered to park up and walk round each other's cars. If you also factor in family commitments, holidays entitlement, geographic locations, etc, your pool of potential attendees quickly shinks. So, as someone already mentioned, you might be best opening the event up to LC, F and even non Lexus owners. But slap on the back for putting the effort in 👍

I'd forget the Lakes. The roads are busy, narrow and lined with stone walls. Not a great combination for a super wide LC500. Scotland - as said, avoid midge season. Best roads are arguably in the Cairngorms - NC500 is totally over-rated and full of caravans, but if sighseeing and caravans are your thing.... Avoid Winter - I was there last week (left LC down South). If you have sea legs, Isle Of Man. One of the few places you can stretch the car's legs legally.

I quite often see GS-Fs, then question myself. "Was it a GS300H..... or maybe a 450h..." 😉

If you want a capable driver’s car, go RCF. The 204 is not a great handling car - and I never really rated my W205 63 either. If you want noise, go Mercedes. I don’t know of a Lexus V8 that delivers great sound without compromises (exception being the LC500).

I was lucky. I didn't buy my car from Lexus. I spotted the issue within the first week of ownership. The dealer agreed to put the car right. I'm confident, but hopefully wrong, that a Lexus warranty won't cover this. Reason being that I had an IS-F back in the day, and it developed a clicking seat (when cornering). Once again, this was a rail issue. I tried my best to get Lexus to replace the seat, but even going to Lexus UK, the answer was, "Sorry, that's wear and tear". I guess, if your car is very low mileage, things might be different. Like I said, I hope I am wrong. Technically, I do believe Toyota make their seat mechanisms out of chocolate!

I've PM'd Ben. Yes, I had this issue. Seat rocks forwards and backwards. Absolutely horrible feeling when pulling off and coming to a stop. I've seen at least 5 owners report this as an issue. I believe it's a fault with not just the LC, but other Toyota products as well. Having sat in a brand new LC, knowing what I was looking for, I could reporoduce the rocking. Only minor, but no doubts, the fault was present. Remedy - a new seat base from Japan. Not cheap! Lexus must know.

There are issues around seat clicking and movement / rocking. Not limited to the LC, but across the Toyota range. Very expensive to fix.
