  1. Great turn out today. Excellent seeing you all. I'd especially like to thank the members of the BMW car club for bringing their cracking M cars!
  2. I'm a big fan of using an F and not pampering it in the garage Today, I took my car out into the outside world - beyond my garage! I took my mobile phone along with me to document the occasion, stopping off for a few snaps. So there you have it - proof that my car is not just a garage queen. She is however booked in for a full valet tomorrow and will then it will be back home for trickle charging and oil warming 😀
  3. Now you are showing off! You live in Scotland and still go on pursuit of motoring nirvana! Hat off to your dedication 😜
  4. On the way home yesterday we stopped to help a broken down ‘Fiat’ . Once the ‘Fiat’ was fixed we had a play on the way home.
  5. She (or her replacement) is going for a trip to Andorra next year 👍
  6. Funny thing is, when you photograph a car, you notice so many more things - lines, creases, design features etc. A real pleasure to look at.
  7. Don’t panic - yesterday..... I.......I....... I’m struggling to type this - I took the car..........outdoors!!!!!! Oh God, that was tough.
  8. Thank you kindly Stephen ( @st4 ). Comments from a professional photographer such as yourself are extra special 👍
  9. No worries Mountin road - probably not. Done it so many times, I’ll probably take an alternative 👍
  10. A couple of us fancy a run out this weekend. Post here if interested in attending
  11. Photography started as a hobby for me but turned into a business. That sort of spoilt the enjoyment for me 😢 I shot my last wedding two weeks ago, so hopefully I might get the passion back 😀 I don’t shoot landscapes, but I’ll try to keep with the theme. Here’s a pic of my local town (using my phone). And a quickly pic of the motor -
  12. Not sure it’s that simple. I live in the Cotswolds and the roads are poor. Roads are generally bordered by high hedges which hampers visibility. Roads are also very very busy. Good roads outside of Wales and Scotland are few and far between.
  13. Car manufacturers are always pushing the next must have technology. They pushed the diesel market and now they'll push electric. At the end of the day, they have to continue getting sales and if everyone is convinced they need to buy the next trendy type of car, the car companies will do very well!
  14. In the Blue corner with his plastic bonnet, we have @tomRCFcarbon in the red corner we have smokey diesel @Linas.P with his ubiquitous IS220d DING DING round ONE @NemesisUK get your popcorn🍿 ready!!!
  15. The electric debate is very interesting. Any chance one of you could create a dedicated thread to discuss?
  16. GS-Fs can be heavy on brakes - maybe the same for IS-Fs......
  17. I’ve always questioned the argument for power getting you out of trouble. I suppose that when pulling out of junctions, power can help, but personally I think power is more likely to get you in to trouble. Lets take overtaking as an example. When using your POWER to overtake a string of vehicles, you’ve got to be damn sure that all of the vehicles know that you are coming. You can’t guarantee this - so power could get you into a bag of trouble. One last point. Tricky situations often occur very rapidly. It’s very unlikely that you will react quickly enough to use said POWER. In any case, if your gearbox is in Auto mode, then you’ll be relying on k I C k d o w n. ZzzZZZZZZ. Ill take great brakes and tyres over POWER any day!!!
  18. You don't need more power. If you had a car with better fuel efficiency, you wouldn't have to visit this garage you have described. How about an IS220d?
  19. I'm not convinced that Lexus are even bothered about pushing the brand in the UK. I don't think we can say that the F product is better than the German equivalents - just different. It could be argued that M cars have better steering and AMGs generate sounds that we can only dream of. Reliability - Lexus is of course top! I don't think the IS-F will ever be a classic. They are great cars, but most petrol heads don't even know they exist. Add the other nail to the coffin in the fact that the IS-F is so understated. It is very unlikely that someone will spot an IS-F and think 'I want one of those!!!'. It's hardly a self promoting vehicle! A real shame. Long term I think the IS-F will become a very expensive beast to run. When warranties run out and things start to fail, there won't be an abundance of parts available - unlike the equivalent M or AMG. As for indies...... forget it! We may see the bottom end of the IS-F market on Autotrader at £13k, but realistically cars are probably already trading at less than £10k.
