  1. Several dealers and lots and lot and lots of hours, it looks like Lexus UK have come up with a solution. Using this solution, my dealer believes they have fixed the problem - once and for all. I’ll give the car a thorough testing over the weekend and report back!
  2. Trouble is with all these predictions, they tend to follow the same pattern, whereby those that don’t have said car always predict the worst. Arguably, those that do have said car like to be optimistic. Finally, I believe someone likened the LC to the SC. Not sure that’s wise. The SC was hated by nearly everybody.
  3. Got to admit, it's not my cup of tea, but heh, each to their own. If you contact Lexus on Facebook, they'll tell you the numbers. I asked a similar question of them i.e. "How many white RC-F Carbons are there in the UK?"
  4. I currently have the LC as a garage queen and a BMW M240i daily, so the idea was to get something to replace both. Every time I finish driving one, I start missing the other. The screaming V8 v the torquey 6. Both can be intoxicating 🙂 I test drove the new M2 and the new M240i (which I preferred). I was going to look at an Audi RS7 as well.
  5. After a glut of test drives, I’ve decided not to sell.
  6. It’s all crystal ball stuff, but I don’t think practicality will have any impact. People looking at the LC have never worried about practicality. Anyway, it really isn’t that bad, on a short trip I even got a 6ft mate in the back. If you compare the LC to other cars in its class, I think depreciation is favourable e.g. BMW 8 series. Even die hard German fans seem to favour the LC over the likes of the 8. Finally, unlike Lexus F cars, the LC is recognised by the wider public as being a very sexy car. Drive an ISF,RCF or GSF down the road and few people (other than use lot) would ever notice. An LC on the other hand really does turn heads. As an example, when a Lamborghini driver flags you down to talk, you know the car is special! So, like I said, crystal ball, but I wouldn’t write them off.
  7. See - now you've sent me into a tailspin 😁
  8. I can't argue with, but I'm guessing that'll be a while yet.....?
  9. Hi Andy. I've always run the LC as a second car. I have an M240i as my daily (which is bag of fun with the B58). I fancy having just one car as I'm starting to question 2 x insurance, MOT, servicing.... running costs V the enjoyment of owning two cars. I also think that life is too short and staying with the LC long term...... may not be the right thing to do. Trust me, selling it will be a big decision. So, if I go ahead, I'll sell both and look at something like an M2... or similar.
  10. Hi Nean. I've had the LC for.... two years. Not sure how long I had the RC-F for... a little less I think. Comparison..... so many differences. Here's a brain dump - LC + side - Looks and attention (if you like that sort of thing) Exhaust - crisp and exotic sounding (no drone) Induction and downshifts - amazing Handling - being 4 wheel steer, better turn in In summary, I think the LC is more of a special occasion car i.e. it feels special when you get in it. Also, I'd argue that it's more fun to drive... more sporty feeling that an RC-F. LC Negs Brakes (front) are expensive - but mine have been done The attention it gets (if that's not your thing)
  11. 59k miles. 2017 Sport + ML, etc Full Lexus service history (last serviced 7th June 2024). Had new front discs and new pads all round last year, so needs nothing. PM me if interested.
  12. Just for the hell of it, I thought I'd try some comparison sites (before my renewal in Sept). Prices seem to have gone up AGAIN.
  13. It’s tricky to get a good sound out of that engine without compromising drone. The only car that seems to manage it out of the box is the LC. Ideally valved is the route to go, but I guess that’s going to be expensive and difficult to get hold of.
  14. Seen loads around and about, even one this week. Was out driving in the Beamer and spotted this -
  15. AND, just hope your door handles don't stop working! https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-lc-phase-1-o-s-door-handle-assembly/
  16. You can see why it doesn't take much to write these cars off!
  17. Well, the good news is that Lexus parts direct have a sale. Check out how cheap a wheel is - https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/product/lexus-lc-21-inch-type-wheel/ Yes, I'm being flippant, but the point I'm trying to make is that when things break, the fix may me extortionate. All LC500s (irrespective of value are £100k cars)
  18. People get hung up about mileage, but it could work in your favour. For example, around 50k (miles) there will be a big service and the chances are front discs. So, what would you rather buy, a 45k miles car (that's not had the discs changed) or a 55k miles that's already had the work done?
  19. Point well made! Also, there seems to be a lot of naivety about Lexus Relax.
  20. I always worry about maintenance costs. I considered an R8 before the LC, but decided against it because of potential large bills.
  21. Fair points. However, even now the Lexus dealers seem to struggle with diagnosing issues with the LC (due to its rarity). Imagine if a dealer has to do 10 hrs diagnosis whilst you’re paying the bill outside of warranty. Let’s take the gearbox as an example. It’s used in just the LC. Compare that to a ZF box.. if you have an issue with a ZF box, the chances are the issue will be very common and there’ll be lots of indies that can work on it. The LC gearbox on the other hand…….. The LC500 is my third Lexus. I’d put it’s build quality last. I think the rarity of the LC500 may make it an expensive long termer.
  22. A few years from now and some LC500s will fall outside of Lexus Relax. Would you run an LC without a Lexus warranty?
  23. Make sure the fuel pump recall work has been done - unlikely it hasn’t.
