  1. All that effort and now his F looks horrible. Not for me, but hey, each to their own :)
  2. I wouldn't worry about the colour. You didn't notice until you put your car next to another. Good find.
  3. I can give rusty a tip for a track day. Get some quieter exhausts!! :)
  4. I'll have the car, you can have Dolly :)
  5. Rain. rain and some more bloody rain. Weather forecast said sunshine!!!! I did the mountain road last time. STUPENDOUS!!!!!! A must!!! Had the Mrs with me this time. She gets car sick so put the car in D.
  6. F ready for the day.
  7. If this Scottish trip happens, I'd like to be wafted to the pub every evening in an LS400 :)
  8. Landed @ Aberystwyth
  9. @Rusty Crobar. You and this thread - it's all your fault. Just looked outside. Rain has stopped. Weather in Wales tomorrow looks good. IS-F needs a workout. I'll send you a postcard from Wales. Off I go.
  10. Thanks for posting that :) I read the other article, it has made me even less keen on moding IS-Fs
  11. If I lived in a built up area and used the F as a daily, I suspect I'd just stick in auto. However, as I drive the F mainly at weekends, when I do I drive it, I want to enjoy the drive, and being in control of the gear selection is part of the fun. I totally agree that there is no substitute for a manual box, and that if you use all 8 gears it is easy to forget which gear you are in. I recall either @Rusty Crobar or @emjay82 saying that it is best to drive it as a 5 speed, thinking of 6th, 7th and 8th gears as being there for economy. That works well for me. I'm a big fan of the F, but I've never found a gearbox setting that is perfect. In a ideal world, I'd like to be able to set the following combinations - Manual gear selection ON + Sport ON + Smooth up change.
  12. I've done some analysis, and I'm gob smacked at how close the colour match is between @Mark G's blue IS-F and another vehicle - see below.
  13. That's it @Big Rat, you show them Southern city boys how it's done down here in the West 'Cuntry'.
  14. Only when our third amigo is out playing with asbestos!
  15. The couple looked carefully at the blue saloon car parked at Castle Combe and said "Isn't that Toyota Carina the same colour as our Lexus NX?".
  16. Absolutely Marcus. I think next time I go, I'll print off some facts and stick them in the window
  17. Couldn't agree more. Trouble is that you get marshalled into position :( Rear, from high is one of the best angles (IMHO).
  18. We grabbed breakfast, did two circuits of the cars and then left. It was yucky weather. Lovely place however :)
  19. In fact, I think if the F had been in any colour other than silver, the interest would have been in negative numbers!!!!
  20. Is that the airfix scaled down version of @Rusty Crobar's pipes? Looks like a great road trip Rusty
  21. Took the F to the first breakfast meeting of the year at Shelsley Walsh today. Great to meet other petrol heads and chat. The F's second visit to SW, and yet again it amazes me how little attention the IS-F gets even from dedicated petrol heads. In fact, ZERO attention LOL. The IS-F the unheard of hero! Excuse the crappy phone image.
  22. Have those pipes got bigger?
