I took my car infor a service once, having replaced the metal caps for plastic ones. The car came back with the plastic ones gone and shiny metal ones back on, plus a bill for 4 x £21 for each of them. I told them to put the old ones back and they said they binned them, so I told the to F**K off and trawl through the bins to find them and I was knocking £50 off the bill for wasting my time. In the end they gave me the £50 off and found some silver looking plastic ones free of charge. I just wish they would ask first before they just do things that are outside of the service.

Price is just once complexity, you want an insurer that will agree to Lexus certified technicians using original parts and who won't wiggle out and not pay when you need to claim. Personally I only trust the larger insurers that have the backing and finances to do so, even if it is not the cheapest option

Nothing is perfect, I suspect with enough time and resource, the Gen 5 will be exploited and vulnerabilities found

What are eccentric bolts?

Gen 5 may not be affected by canbus issues ... yet but what have they skimped on this time and would I trust them, especially after how I feel they have poorly managed this issue.

Lexus should just put Ghost 2s in and refund anyone who has done this themselves.

yep, was told by service dept that next year the prices will go up by £80

Yep, £660 for a service and £100 for wiper blades, and its going up by £80 next year.

They should also refund anyone who has had to put their own security in while waiting for lexus to get of their lazy arses

I keep mine for a long time to that the depreciation curve flattens out a bit more

But the still do F**K All about putting pressure on insurers, including their own.

I suspect they saw their sales drop and realised that people were going elsewhere. Still £1700 was my best from one of the big insurers. Lexus refused and then when pushed came back with £6K so it was a V to them.

But franchises have more clout than the single consumer. If multiple franchises start threatening to close due to losses then maybe Lexus would do something more/faster.

I can't help but think that if the thieves targeted RXs on dealership 4 courts, of which I counted at least 10 last week on one of my local ones, maybe Lexus would move faster with all their profits going down the drain and their insurance rocketing. Not suggesting anything here, just a hope that on the off chance thieves might consider the same thing.

Then they can get off their backsides and fix the older vehicles and reduce insurance premiums
