  1. The ISF is a great car but the issue I had was that I felt it blended in too much with the other cars on the road. I had to put it in sports mode (which was a pain!) every time I drove it just to make things more exciting. The feel good factor was lacking for me and I started to get bored.

It's still early days with the RCF but just sitting in the cabin it fells special and every time I park up I always look back when walking away. Sometimes when I'm in the kitchen I would open the door  to the garage just to check on how it was doing!😂

  2. I rented one for a week during a holiday in Japan and it was a fun car, a bit like a go kart! Had to really use the revs to get any speed out of it though which is not a bad thing but the noise it made wasn't a pleasant one...The interior felt quite low rent but it might just be the version that I had because I can't recall it having any other materials apart from hard plastic...The back seats are useless  even for small children! It's a good car but I wouldn't like to use it as a daily.

This is one from Lexus Edinburgh am I correct, went down for a drive one night about a week ago and seen it parked up at the back. Walked round it salivating, mint condition.

Yes, that's the one!  Because of recent car theft in my area I decided to clear-out my garage today... It's a very tight fit!!

@BluethunderNean well done Matey you’ve done the deed !

Car looks great look forward to meeting you both some time 👍

    🐀

Thanks Paul for your help & advice when I was “shopping”. Much appreciated.

There was a silver demo there too and looked quite stealthy but I’m glad I ended up with the blue because the colour does look amazing in the flesh.

Hopefully meet you and a few others at the Kemble meet:)

Sounds like they're including an admin fee? Normally can be waivered if you ask nicely.
If they're saying it's all to adjust to the new premium for the course of 1.5mths, they're saying your renewal will be £680 extra than your current policy!

Admin fee is £25 of the £85 so it looks like I'll be looking elsewhere when it comes to renewal.

I notice you are in Cheshire Nean; would you be by any chance buying it from Chester? If so, the service guys there are great, so don't be put off by some dodgy sales people

I’m buying from Edinburgh so have a long drive next weekend. I’ve been using stockport only because it’s the closest to me but have had mixed service from them...

Thanks for the info on supaguard. I think I’ll look into other options to protect the paint. There’s another thread about stone chips on sonic red and I imagine that blue would be very similar...

     Very small market

The market might be small but so is the choice for potential buyers. If you want a specific colour and mileage then you could be waiting for a while...

The 2 blue ones at under £30k are not desirable for potential buyers because of the high mileage unless a couple of grand is knocked off the price.

The other problem I encountered was that dealers weren't willing to negotiate on the price.

Dealer for the silver carbon at Tunbridge Wells would not even budge on the asking price even though I told him that I knew it was for sale earlier in the year at Stoke for £38k and offered me less than Webuyanycar for mine!

  8. Finally the search for a RCF is over:) I put down a deposit yesterday for one in the common blue colour 😏

The Lexus dealer is trying to sell me additional packages. Any thoughts whether it's worth paying  extra for:

    • TLP - Total Loss Protection - This is a 'one-off' payment which covers you for 3 years, if the car is stolen or written off, TLP will pay the Gap between what your insurance company offers for your car and the invoice price. £449 for 3 years
    • Lexus SMART Cover - Professional repairs for minor scratches, dents, chips & scuffs: £449 for 3 years
    • Supagard - This is sealant that protects your paintwork and carpets for 3 years, it also treats the leather seats.

I’m just here to help that’s all mate . I’m not fussed about talking about what’s on my old car etc just the transmission issue which has been a nightmare from the beginning to the end and 3 grand later down the line spent and still not fixed .and I’ve lost my isf because of it all so hey tbh mate I’m not best pleased at the least never mind taking about the odd bit of carbon fibre here and there . If anyone has the slightest smell of like a parafin smell . Stop and do not drive . My breakdown happened in a town doing 10 mph . Unreal . And like I said the damage it caused is beyond belief .

So did you sell the car to the dealer? I noticed that they dropped the original advertised price by around 3K before it disappeared off AT & Lexus website..
