I’m replacing my battery tomorrow as it died last night and wouldn’t start. RAC came out to jump start it to get me to work. I’ve found a YUASA battery at GSF car parts for £175 with discount. All Lexus and Toyota dealers are closed temporarily so that’s all I can get. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rear bumper removed, plug identification?

Having removed my bumper before that is for parking sensors. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
It looked much better but only lasted about 3 months. They were expensive ones too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

A bit of a thread resurrection here. Just updating on this. The CT is now on 103K and to this day I haven’t had that problem again. EGR system is totally clean throughout (incl throttle body). It had a major service last year in October and I’m still using injector cleaner once a month. Runs perfectly and the MPG is still staying up as best it can in this cold weather. I had LED,s in my number plate lamps. Didn’t last very long and started flickering. So back to standard now. [emoji1360] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Mines a 2011 on 103K with FSH. You don’t need to worry about the traction battery as they don’t go wrong. Mine is still perfectly healthy. I’ve had nothing go wrong with the car apart from a recall. Just be cautious if you’re buying private as anyone would do buying 2nd hand. Good luck [emoji1360] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

exhaust smoke when the petrol engine starts.

More information needed and a video if possible? It’s probably just fuel vapour with a cold engine. These engines aren’t prone to smoking. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I’d love to know how they picked that up on the MOT [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It’s a terrible system I’ve never had any luck with it. Worked flawlessly on my Skoda and Suzuki. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

All CT,s are the same underneath. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I doubt it’s corrosion. Probably just a poor connection. Very easy to access too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

You can do it via the Carista app and obd adapter too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Currently waiting for a flat bed truck to recover my CT.

I thought this would be the outcome. I don’t think there is anything to worry about. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 47 replies

My 2011 is on 103K and nothing has gone wrong. It’s passed every MOT with no advisories. Serviced every year at Lexus. I’ve only replaced the Goodyear tyres on it at 94K(they were the originals) because they were hard and noisy and a pair of wiper blades at 102K because they were smeary. It’s still on its original brakes/discs. Apparently I was told in October on its annual service that they’re only about 50% worn [emoji15] On its hybrid battery check at the same time they said it’s still perfectly healthy. Good old CT quality car [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Currently waiting for a flat bed truck to recover my CT.
stormchaser replied to BoutTime's topic in Lexus CT 200h Club
I hope it was in neutral when it went on the flatbed or was it driven on? I think that when you braked sharply the engine lost vacum and tried to stall but obviously these can’t so the stepper motor kicked in to bring the idle up and probably gave you the chugging rattly noise until vacum built up again hence why it was rough when trying to select any gears. Powering down does reset a lot things on the CT that’s why they make a noise after you shut them off. Don’t let this make you lose faith in it as they are a bulletproof car and very reliable. Mines a 2011 SE L Premier with 103K and I’ve never had anything go wrong at all. Only 2 recalls and I get it serviced at Lexus Poole every year. Passed all it’s MOT,s with no advisories. Good luck. That’s a strange one for sure. Sorry to hear this. I’ve had a major emergency stop in mine which was frightening but absolutely nothing happened to it at all. I can guarantee they’ll come back with they couldn’t find anything and all is normal. Good luck and keep us posted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk- 47 replies

Both will fit Doors are the same. Front bumper has cosmetic changes but the fitment is the same. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would get the exhaust welded. That’s the cheaper option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m 6’3 and have no problem at all. My drivers seat is not set all the way back and I’m fairly stretched from the steering wheel. They don’t suffer from head gasket issues or egr problems in the UK at least. Hybrid batteries here don’t fail either. I’ve never heard of any of these here. Mines a 2011 with 102K and I’ve had zero problems since new. It reacts now just like when I got it from new. The US have got bad fuel and heat problems there. The Prius gen 3 suffers the same in the US too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

2014 ct f-sport, what do I need to know?
stormchaser replied to Stuno1's topic in Lexus CT 200h Club
I have a 2011 SE L Premier with every option. I’ve had it since new and I’m on 102K and apart from services and one recall it hasn’t needed anything else. It’s faultless and still drives like when I 1st got it. So far it’s passed every MOT with no advisories. I won’t be getting rid of this soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Yes it does as it’s fitted to the steering wheel. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

That’s definitely an aftermarket switch fitted there. Mine are blank there. (SE L Premier). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
