  1. Lexus dealers usually do a check and recharge for £60 so you may as well go there where they know what they are doing than a fast fit place for almost as much. The system should be tested for leaks before any refilling with ac gas as the stuff isn’t very kind to the environment, reputable garages will do this as part of the ac service.
  2. Thanks for posting back the results and glad you found the CT to your liking 🙂
  3. 2. It works automatically, you no longer need to hard press the pedal. Odd they cut the manual, my 2018 still has a thick book covering everything. You can get a pdf on the Lexus website in the owners section.
  4. 14mm Source: https://www.ct200hforum.com/forum/lexus-ct200h-how-do-yourself/140145-anyone-replaced-their-spark-plugs-diy-yet-2.html
  5. https://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-ct/lexus-ct-phase-1-alloy-wheel-centre-cap-badge/ Could also look at breakers on eBay and see if the seller would sell you just the cap.
  6. Older cars worked like this but they changed it and now it is automatic (you don’t have the push the foot rake harder to engage it). Not sure when it changed exactly and my 2014 was the former but my 2018 is completely automatic.
  7. I’ve only ever driven them with 17” alloys but from what I’ve read the smaller wheels make a small improvement.
  8. Right I’m on my second CT200h after I liked the first so that should tell you something 😀 Footbrake - you get used to that after the first 10 minutes driving. Jumping from a manual to it means being careful not to put the “clutch” down the first time you pull up but your brain very quickly relearns! Very smooth around town. Suspension a little firm if you live in an area with bad roads but the 2014 onwards cars have slightly softer suspension than earlier examples. For your low mileage I’d suggest looking at second hand/preregistered at least. Not sure where you have looked but I’d go for a mid spec car that is a few months old over a base model. This will also help when you come to trade it in unless you are planning on keeping it a really long time. They are pretty bullet proof so you could get a high mileage example and with your low mileage it would even out and you would save quite a bit. It is a much nicer place to sit than a Prius imo but be aware the CT is based on the slightly older Prius running gear and won’t get the same mpg as a new Prius. That said on 4K miles a year it won’t make a big difference. The CT is a bit dated ICE wise but it works fine once you learn the menus, just don’t expect Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
  9. Anything Euro 4 or later for petrol doesn't pay the ULEZ charge so that covers anything since 2005. Would have thought all the Hybrids would meet that as they came on the scene around then. https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone/cars
  10. Top it up and see how it goes over the next 1k miles (check every week). If it doesn’t drop then it was possibly low after the last service. If it does drop back down then it will need investigation. I’ve never had any oil consumption issues with the Toyota 1.8 in hybrid form but I’ve never had one up to that sort of mileage.
  11. Not all Lexus can run E10 so it does matter 😉 https://www.e10bensiini.fi/files/227/Compatibility_of_E10_Petrol_with_Various_Passengers_Vehicles_27_05_2011.pdf
  12. Yes use their glass cleaner on the side and tailgate windows, not on the windscreen as I found it too smeary with the wiper blades as it wearing off. It is hard to wipe off if you use too much (1 or 2 squirts per side window is enough) and the glass needs to be dry to start with our the rain repellent nature of the product means you will spend ages trying to buff it dry. For the windscreen I stick to AG fast glass and a separate cloth so I don't get any rainx on the windscreen glass.
  13. Regular car batteries typically last 4-6 years so it isn’t entirely unexpected for it to go on a 2014 car although a bit unfortunate. At least that is ruled out and won’t be something needing replaced again for a while. It is easy to bash the dealer or AA here and perhaps, it will turn out, deservingly so but we don’t know the root cause yet. If damage was done trying to jump start it then yes the AA are in the wrong but we don’t know that at this stage. All we know is it failed to start and still fails to start despite the 12v battery being replaced. It isn’t like this is a common fault with these cars and if Lexus HQ are involved it suggest they too are scratching their heads. Have they given you something decent to drive while yours is off the road?
  14. Best place is probably just left and behind the rear view mirror. It costs a bit but Lexus now do a dealer fitted kit: https://www.easternwestern.co.uk/lexus/accessories/dash-cam.php
  15. 1. In the menu, vehicle settings, park assist. Change the alert volume (page 303 of the manual). I don't think it turns the radio down but I've never found the beeps are drowned out. 2. As above, in the menu you can adjust the voice volume. Page 409 in the version of the handbook I have. 3. Don't leave it on auto when parking up, especially in winter conditions. If the blades are frozen it can activate when you start the car and damage the motor/blow the fuse. Treat it like auto intermittent speed, not something to leave on even when it is dry.
  16. Yes, had them in my last CT. I think it had stretched slightly in the 30k miles of drivers seat use but only very slightly around the bolsters on the seat base. Better feeling in cold temperatures than leather. I'd have opted for them again but you can't get it with the electric 8 way adjustment. Easy to maintain, just vacuum cleaned. Probably not so good if you have children (sticky sweets and muddy boots).
  17. I use a Defender signal blocker pouch for the keys at home. If I’m away with the car but in danger of someone using a relay attack (e.g. staying in a hotel) I turn off the keyless entry function in the menu. Interesting Lexus appear to have added that as my 2014 CT didn’t have the option, at least in the menu.
  18. Hmm that looks like a right PITA! Not sure I’d bother, could cause some expensive damage trying to pull it out.
  19. Here you go: http://knigaproavto(blocked word)/shemy/en/lexus/ct/752-lexus-ct-200h-fuse-box-diagram.html Not very clear but looks like it might be a practicality impossible thing to get at.
  20. Solved freezing issues and squeaky seals on my CT 200h. This is the stuff: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B002MZZNU8/ref=pe_3187911_185740111_TE_item
  21. I guess some people prefer to just sign up the direct debit and then it is taken care of without having to remember to budget for it. I'd rather have it in my bank account than theirs 😃
  22. No discount offered by Edinburgh to me. Fair enough but apart from a small potential inflation proofing it didn’t seem much of a deal to me so I opted just to pay as I go this time.
  23. Yes, 3 is the furthest distance to the vehicle in front. Button on the right side of the steering wheel changes it between 1 and 3. It has to be on from the stock first and always defaults to 3.
  24. They can be good but sometimes doing your research and playing the game works. We got more off a new Suzuki Ignis than the carwow or what car target prices recently by visiting the dealer and helping them meet their January target (often a quiet month).
