  1. Not insurance companies policy...the state...to replace car. Just to offer glasses guide value....which is fine for a mainstream vehicle...but not so good for something rare.
  2. Exact car i sent them. Anyway ...they upped offer by a couple of grand....but still way off. Forwarded it all on to omnsbud guys. See what happens.
  3. yep - i was thinking around the 19.5K. Offered....14K !!!!!! Gulped first, then started laughing.
  4. thanks for all suggestions. Ultimately will depend on what insurance pay. AND THAT IS CURRENT ISSUE. So what is a 58 white ISF worth, dealer bought, 67000 miles, 8 lexus stamps in book (recent being 6 days before it was nicked), recent tyres and brakes. All greens on Lexus three page car inspection, exterior and interior spotless. I will let you guys have a guess before I tell you the first offer. Seems insurers pay trade market value (think webuyanycar...lol). If i could buy an ISF with what they are offering, i'd buy too and sell one and make a canny profit. There are two similiar miled cars for sale on autotrader by dealers - but both have slightly lower miles but are 08 plates. Both are 22k. Thought the reason for having insurance was so that if anything did happen, you could replace the car with another of similiar spec?
  5. Oh and be aware if purchasing a white isf. Have no idea how many white ones in uk there is...but i dont think many. Ive had dealing with three white ones....the first had no initial service (a no no for a performance car), second was tuned to hilt from new (again not great so rejected by me), and lastly my pride n joy was nicked.
  6. Update...scums left my car in housing estate but by time police arrived long gone. So looks like its away to pastures new. Sad really, as had a twang when i saw pics....was a nice car. Hopefully cctv will get scum backs involved. AS FOR NEXT CAR???? A bit disheartened by it all really. Have a stupid box renault thing as a loan car and thinking whats the point of something nice. Luckily my wife says buy something that will cheer us up. So. amg 6.2 engines arwnt great.? Will need to read up on it. It would have been a cls i would have wanted but the 5.5 engine is in the 10 year old model. Put feelers out towards a xfr and xkr....see what response i have. Lastly....my silly head keeps looking at a tvr tamora or 350. Yep i know.....it will break down....but bored with mainstream cars.
  7. not sure. Had 2 white ISFs now.....;ast one took we months to find as a bit picky. Chances of sourcing another one in white is slim. Maybe gonna have a look at Jag XFRs, XKR or Merc 6.3 AMGs. They are the sensible options. The unsensible options are a TVR Tamora or an early Skyline R32 GTR. The boring choice would be a M3 V8 saloon.
  8. wife left side door open for me to come home when she was upstairs - literly 45 mins. Both my kids were up and about too. Other family who had car stolen have no idea - all there doors were looked from inside with keys in locks. suspect the buggers have entered house and nicked keys and left through rear door - as this was found unlocked (and we never normally use this door). As we were in the house, alarm wasn't on. Have cats so they would have triggered it anyway if it was on. CCTV footage quite chilling - my wife didin't want to view it.
  9. Hope the get the bas**rds.....but I doubt it. At least have CCTV evidence for insurance.....as will my neighbour who was worried as no sign of forced entry, just all her keys missing along with her Merc
  10. if they want the car they will get you to open safe... Next door neighbour has CCTV of guys. Masks and hoods and what looks metal poles - dont think I would have liked my odds and I'm 6ft 4. Thing was biggest guy knew CCTV was there and stared straight at it, giving it the middle finger. Gutted.....and feeling really down at moment.
  11. Dont think CCTV would have helped - literally gone in 10 secs. Did wake me up - and as guy shot off he gave me a cheeky double peep on horn. Scum.
  12. Yep - my thoughts. Headed for eastern europe. Did a few top end Range Rovers a few weeks back - prob same bunch. More ****** off having someone in my house, esp as I have kids.
  13. To true....no one was hurt. Just found out they took the neighbours Merc at same time. Chances of seeing either again??? Slim I think.
  14. Even if I get car back - it will be recorded as stolen - so would prefer not to. Plod reckons not random - defo a picked car.
  15. Guys, just to make you aware: House broke into this morning and scum nicked car keys and ISF. Had the cheek to peep the horn as they left at 4am. Total gutted. SO beware if buying a second hand white ISF - there are only a few out there.
  16. You should manage average 24mpg easily enough, most do. But if you use them hard this can drop to 16-18mpg - maybe lower. Unless the car your looking at has extended warranty (which it may have) - most cost effective may to service them would be a good indepedant garage you can trust, although for basic services, Lexus dont really do anything special. As for consumables - tyres try Camskills. I also just changed all brake pads for less than £67 (yes - 67 quid), and really easy to do. Castrol oil was £64 for 10 ltrs, and a filter is £10. Buying these and supplying them to whoever services car will save you quite a bit too. Not sure if I would have an ISF as an only car, but sure its possible.
  17. All good....was the crappy pipe clip and a furred up pipe. Cleaned up and fitted decent jubilee clip - no leak. Arm looks like its went 10 rounds with a tiger - not a lot of space to work in.
  18. £300 for a tiny bar cooler?? Hopefully its just a hose, are at worst, a cracked pipe thats repairable. Todays afternoon project
  19. Am I right in thinking the small cooler in front of radiator is the ATF cooler?? Seems mine has decided to start leaking from one of the pipe connections......AH This cooler must be under low pressure as just normal pipe connectors. Anyone any idea cost of cooler / or if repairable being a low pressure item??
  20. Will no doubt get it booked in. A previous RS4 and a Porsche were on 2 yearly servicing (as low miles) - something that Lexus dont do. The Castrol oil our beasties take is a very decent oil - that after a year and 4000 miles is as new. I asked what else was included (in a oil change service) and basically its a look over!! Asked the service peep about whats due and they go by the book, stating it needs diff oil - which was changed 12000 miles ago??? But it was done early but doesn't register with Lexus planned scheduled - go figure. Having had many performance cars - pretty sure "my" look over is better than Lexus, hence I might go Independant. 300 quid for a 60 quid oil change isn't to be sniffed at....even a minor service on the RS4 was only 180 quid (howver dont mention Porsche price...GULP) But saying all that....I will get it booked in
  21. Resale value is the swinging factor. Will price it up and see.
  22. Its had a big "plug" service so would only be a minor oil service. Yep - Infiniti near Braehead. Used the previously and rate them.
  23. So its that time of year again, servicing. Its been just over 12 months since last service. Car has been serviced every year of its life, BUT..... I do very little mileage, so should I service yearly or go by mileage? What do you guys reckon? Also Lexus main dealer for a 58 plate car or time to look at Independant (would actually be Infiniti Glasgow).
  24. 58 plate - 60k something?? No idea as never take notice. Higher than I would have liked - but as my last car had less than 1000 miles between MOTs, should balance out after a few years.
