  1. Rayaans, please don't go from the RX into the NX, I did the same thing last March and I regretted it almost after immediately, despite doing a test drive before hand. For all the NX great attributes it felt very clustraphobic size wise for my family, especially having a family of five to lug around sometimes. The NX driving dynamics can never compete with the RX. I had the NX F sport and also currently drive the RX F sport, I won't be able to completely highlight the differences on this thread, perhaps another time, but my advice is that you stick with the RX when you eventually go for a change.
  2. Hi Assa1974, I guess you may have misinterpreted my original post. I was merely drawing attention to the design language expressed by LR in the Velar and comparing that car with the design of the 4th Gen RX (which I love very much and currently drive). All RR reliability problems and shoddy customer service and ridiculous prices are well documented , but my point in the thread was solely to recognise that in the "Looks department" we Lexus enthusiasts should acknowledge that a tough looking competition has arrived. The Velar's interior alone instantly makes most 2016 cars look dated. Myself and most enthusiasts on this thread take into account more factors than just looks when we come to make car purchase decisions, but am sure you and many others know that a sizeable Chelsea Brigade buy their cars purely on looks alone. I for one am on my 4th Lexus since 2007 and not about to switch any time soon but Lexus designers cannot ignore competition from the likes of this new RR, UK sales figures is enough testament. Cheers
  3. I had Dunlops on my F Sport, I once asked my dealer and he said that the tyres come fitted on the daily production run I.e Dunlops on one day and Bridgestone on the next thus I guess Lexus views both as having equal performance characteristics
  4. But you've to admit that this car looks cool, if money is no object I will gladly have it as a second car even if it has to stay on my drive just to look at it every morning
  5. This is seriously cool I have a dilemma come summer stay with Lexus for reliability or go for Urban chic
  6. You should find some decent examples on AliExpress as long as you don't mind typical two weeks postage wait. Expect to pay around £80, however you will still need a local installer to help you to install the kit.
  7. I am looking to upgrade the subwoofer in the booth of my car 4th gen RX; so as to get more thumping bass -: upwards of 200w. My current set up is a ML spec but the bass output is not powerful as I desire. Can anyone suggest which makes of subs will do the job. Also I have seen subs with built -in amplifiers (active subs) can I simply unbolt the factory booth woofer and then plug in the after market examples or is it a complex set up that requires tech wiring knowledge? I will be grateful also if anyone can send me a link to where this topic may have been discussed in the past on the forum. Looking forwards to your suggestions txns.
  8. Nice sound enjoy
  9. Never heard of it but would love to attend if more info is provided about the event
  10. Check here. http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2017/02/toyota-s-latest-trademark-application-hints-at-a-hot-lexus-model.html
  11. Hi Jason, You are right the current 4th gen RX was a big improvement on an already good car. The first thing you'll notice is how well it is insulated from outside noise, the fittings and finishes are also 1st class . Mine had the premium Nav with ML stereo which is good but not as powerful as in my old 2008 GS, but the features & screen resolution of the Navigation unit is also a step up. On driving dynamics I will say the suspension is much stiffer than Gen3 but I have the F sport which are stiffer anyway. I've not been able to go on long motorway trips yet since purchase but my local commute and school runs have been good, one handy feature is the stop-start tech which initially took me some time to get used to at traffic lights . I may be able to write a longer review after half term as am due to visit Bristol hence a trip down m25/m4 to come.
  12. Thanks Wendel for the feedback I have always thought that the ES could steal some of the market from the likes of Volvo V series, VW Passat, Ford Mondeo and such likes. The only Achilles heel may be the lack of diesel but the converted will surely by the hybrids.
  13. Wendel, can you post the link where you read that the ES will be coming to the UK.
  14. I turned the AHB on my car for exactly the same reason you have described. As some other person has commented it's no big deal pulling the stalk by onself as the driving conditions dictates.
  15. I think Audi RS4 would probably be my choice even ahead of the ISF.
  16. Probably apply to all cars in winter but we've all just haven't noticed until you've raised it.
  17. Indepth LS Presentation enjoy.
  18. Yes Jason, you get the HUD as standard on the Premier ; it is a cost option on every other variant. I chose not to have it when specing my new RX recently. Personally i felt it is a gizmo I could well do without, espicially given it was about one grand.
  19. This is my colour combination,
  20. Happy Christmas Piers and happy motoring over the festive period.
  21. Mitesh; Can you expantiate further on what was done and what the resulting sound is like. Also where did you source the Induction Kit from?
  22. Slightly off topic, Can anyone point me in the direction whether there had ever been a thread where the Mark Levinson Subwoofer had been upgraded to an after market one with better Bass output. Many Thanks
  23. I have bought accessories from Japan before and never had any issues. However most USA based Lexus dealers or online retailers will not sell to UK customers; I don't know why.
  24. Thanks to everyone for their comments, I've placed the order and seller promised delivery within 2 weeks
