I find the idea of a 'Track Edition' with a Takumi Pack a bit of a (I really mean "massive") contradiction. Track Editions are normally stripped of excess weight and luxuries to maximise performance, but a Takumi Pack is supposed to be the top of the line edition with all the luxury. Which is it?

Are you sure your insurer doesn't provide cover outside the UK? Most insurers may include minimum cover as standard, but will upgrade on request (and for an extra premium) - it used to be called a Green Card.
-
Let's put that in perspective. If you achieve 49 mpg on your 200 mile round trip, you use 4.0816326 gallons, which is 18.5714 litres. At 51 mpg, you use 3.9215686 gallons, or 17.8431 litres. At £1.409 per litre, that gives you journey costs of £26.17 at 49 mg, or £25.14 at 51 mpg. Is it worth the effort?

I'm guessing this is not your favourite song!

It's that guy atticus. He said in another thread that he'd "put down a deposit on an ES300".

Are you an owner yet?

This has been known about in Japan for some time - this article is dated September 2021: https://japantoday.com/category/crime/japanese-police-struggling-with-growing-number-of-'can-invaders'-used-to-steal-luxury-cars

Mine hasn't got to that age yet so I'm not certain whether or not this applies, but if your prospective purchase is three years old it might be worth asking the dealer to ensure that the maps are updated to the latest version.
-
Ask the dealer to explain what indicators are, and when you should use them.

As Mincey said, if someone is determined to steal your car, then they will. The idea of aftermarket security devices is to create a deterrent, and make the criminal look for an easier target. When I took my car to the dealer after the attempted theft, there was no pro-active advice from the staff about what to do; the body shop manager simply pointed out quite a few vehicles on site that had been damaged in similar theft attempts, and told me that Lexus/Toyota did not have a solution at the moment. He seemed almost pleased by the number of attacks - I suppose it's good for his side of the business! One of the car park attendants suggested I should fit Ghost, but I explained to him that I wanted something to deter the attempted theft and consequent damage, and not something to stop the vehicle being driven once they'd got into it.

Where have you read that Stoplocks can be picked in seconds? https://www.driving.co.uk/news/products/best-steering-wheel-lock/#:~:text=As a bar lock%2C it's,exactly a quiet affair%2C either.

If anyone is buying a Stoplock steering lock (Amazon, Argos, or Halfords), the guide says the Stoplock Pro is the recommended model for the ES. That's what I bought, but I couldn't get it to fit over the steering wheel without it pressing down and sounding the horn continuously. OK - that's a good deterrent, but I don't think the neighbours would be too impressed, and the battery would go flat rather quickly. The Pro Elite has a larger curve on the steel bar, and fits without a problem. It's about £15 cheaper on Amazon than from the other suppliers. So much for keyless entry!

I think someone had a go at mine last night. I was told by a neighbour that it had been damaged - when I went to look at it, at first it looked as if something had caught inside the front nearside wheel arch and pulled the bumper away round to under the headlight. However, there's no visible damage to the panel, so I expect it's more likely someone pulled it off to try to do whatever they do. Off to buy a steering lock first thing in the morning.

Delayed delivery

I definitely think that. Lexus apps are appalling. -
Before my ES I had an E220D (W213), and before that a 520D (F10). The BMW worked well, had an excellent gearbox, and basically did everything I expected, but it had a firm ride, probably because of the run flats. It was well-engineered, but didn't feel luxurious inside. The Merc had a better ride than the BMW, and a more luxurious interior, but also felt a lot more wallowy and barge-like. Dealer service was a big negative for the Merc. Both cars averaged around 40 mpg during the several years I had them - higher on long journeys, lower around town. I'm very happy with my ES (Premium Edition) - I've had it since December 22. The ride is better than the Germans, and noise levels are considerably lower. I would say the quality of the interior is midway between the BMW and the Merc. I haven't noticed any significant differences in power between the ES and the Germans, and I certainly haven't noticed the engine revving noisily while the CVT gearbox tries to work out what to do - clearly I'm not discerning enough to be a motoring journalist, because they all complain about that! The OP asks about the driving dynamics; to me, the ES does what I expect it to do very well - although my driving is a lot more relaxed than when I was younger and driving company cars. I'm getting between 40 and 45 mpg, and that doesn't seem to vary much between town and long distance. My main criticism of the ES would be in respect of the connectivity and the navigation; I'm afraid the Germans are a long way ahead on that. My car's MY23 which is supposed to have the latest version of the navigation and links to the app: my BMW was better 10 years ago.

I had this on my ES. In my case logging into my account via the touchscreen in the car solved it, using the "continue" button.

Remote start on NX 300h

My MY23 ES has it. -
The specification seems to vary by year, but the base edition did not have rain sensing wipers in some years. The price list I have shows them being one of the upgrades included for the Premium Edition - other upgrades in the pack include privacy glass and heated steering wheel. If you haven't got either of those, then you probably haven't got auto wipers. I'd be interested to know if there was a way of retaining the setting on the cruise.

My windscreen damage was caused by a chip . . .

What they don't say is what the ratio is of cars with keyless to cars without. Without that information, telling us that keyless cars are twice as likely to be stolen is meaningless. -
I'm told National Windscreens have ordered the screen from the Lexus dealer - but it's on back order with them. I think the ES volumes are probably too low for there to be aftermarket screens in the UK.
-
I hope for your sake they don't use National Windscreens; I'm with Aviva, and unfortunately they do. My appointment for replacement and recalibration was cancelled on the day because I was told the screen had arrived damaged. After that there was no more contact, so I phoned their call centre, and got a different story, but was told I would be contacted. I wasn't. I phoned again and got another different story. Their final version was that I now have to pay the excess before they will order the screen - incidentally, they have subsequently told me (after I had to contact them again) that the screen is on back order.
