  1. I didn't manage to test visit it, sorry (No phone number from seller appeared). A 'bencmark' for future cars? Though how many 50K mile ones left?
  2. Seems to have gone. You'll have to be happy with a +£3K one! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1998-LEXUS-LS400-MK-IV-AUTO-LPG-98K-FULL-SPEC-17-ALLOYS-S-HIST/151525709931?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20140107083358%26meid%3Dd52fe0caa73d42ba908535adaf4d6959%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D2%26rkt%3D3%26mehot%3Des%26sd%3D121565135505
  3. Spelling mistakes too. IntERgrated amp (integrated!) And my wife often looks for 'Slik dresses' SILK!)-that go cheaply as a result! So LS 400/LS400 or just LS.
  4. Yes. A programme director will have laid out the 'Formula' for the programme, or even a committee? Need to feed them a couple of drinks first?
  5. Pity about the tyres. I'm a believer in only using recommended (Dunlop on these? or are 17 inchers different?) tyres. Or something tried and tested by users....Falkens?
  6. ...only if you TELL them! Send them this link to explain why it got nicked? (And thanks for giving me a reason to view it again!)
  7. Try it and see? Certainly on my Ser 4, I never used to 'plip' it shut, for the alarm drain reason. (And no one ever stole it-no taste these villains! All after Fords and hot rods)
  8. A two sweater, huh? Hope the air-con is working! (-: Or heater currently!
  9. Still on (after being withdrawn!) Hope to visit next weekend. I'd still prefer an LPG car, but you have to take what's about! (And....my previous one was same colour......might like a change...)
  10. I'm interested in this -added bonus; it's local to me! Been looking for one as you guys may know. Share your misgivings re service and 4 owners, but I guess we are wary of stuff! i hope it's a good honest one as I plan to visit soon!
  11. If only it was a Ser 4 I'd PAY £5K! http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201501300550257/sort/default/model/ls_400/saved-search-id/2c929af84a5d8fa0014a5f3540d7000b/postcode/bs110uj/page/1/usedcars/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/make/lexus/radius/1500?logcode=p
  12. Hah! On my first night back with my 'new-to-me' Ser 4, I got up in the morning to find a neighbour -clumsy idiot!!- reversing out had swung around too soon and swiped his Mundano down the side/back end of it. Wrecked the front end of his car-just scraped the plastic lower door/back covers and dented a door on mine! Still cost circa £2K on his insurance! And confirmed everyones opinion of him as a complete *****!
  13. REAL life! None of this namby-pamby 'wrong kind of snow/leaves on the track' stuff THERE!
  14. Well, I'm looking for one like this......but only in that it's the right model (Ser 4) and has nice paint! The Vid (kind of) reminds me of my Citroen CX/DS days, when changing wheels was just a matter of changing the suspension height! So; got that? I'm looking for a sub-90K mile Ser 4 with service record........no big deal? Hah! (-:
  15. You'll enjoy the ride and feeling of smoothness! My neighbour told me he loved 'Not hearing' the car drive by him in the village! (So silent) 'Worth' £1200? For the quality, of course it's 'Worth' it.
  16. Check the Amayama site for these parts; add on 20% for shipping etc. Fitting isn't a specialist job.
  17. Reminds me of touring Spain in '84, in a Citroen Traction Avant Commerciale. After 7 weeks, up in the Picos de Europa, I was checking under he car. Saw a drip under the petrol tank; rubbed it with finger; it became a flow! Tank was rusty! Quickly bought some chewing gum to seal hole! Local garage blew out the tank with compressed air (and blew out the petrol pump diaphragm, I discovered later!), put some fibreglass filler on hole. Cost? £10. Got us home. All in bad Spanish from me!
  18. Having posted recently about Mr Bones of this parish, re CAR set-up, it's good to read this (above). It might be pricy, but having a car that runs without wobble, tyres that don't wear unevenly, etc is vital?
