  1. Now, with Citroen suspension, you don't need to worry! Self adjusting, height stays constant. (I am being historical, as current Cits don't use this set up.)
  2. I thought, for a moment, you'd found a solution! A niggle that's bothered many for ages.
  3. Well, our cars ARE under-valued. An SC430 of similar milage would be lots? I thought maybe Ambermarine was selling, when I saw the location!.
  4. Try asking Algy's Autos, who import cars from Japan? No idea if they can get parts, but no harm in asking. sales@algysautos.com
  5. God knows why Clunes wanders around Cornwall fields in a SUIT! Hadn't really looked at a 600 in motion before. First impressions? The 400 looks better on the road? Not as 'pinched' (though, in life, static, 600s are BIG!)
  6. I agree, but those brambles play hell with the door paint! Though Lex's paint pretty resilient. David. Find the vid on Youtube. Highlight the address (in http etc bit at top) Go to 'Edit' bit at top. Copy. Then when you want to drop the link in to a post just go back to 'edit' Press 'Paste' Hey presto! On here, the link opens automatically. All of this on Safari on a Mac-is it same elsewhere? That's the depth of MY knowledge too!
  7. All details the same as a year ago (inc same seller). Maybe the sale fell through, though no mention.
  8. I thought I was having a 'turn' seeing this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-LS400-Mark-4-/191691794440?_trksid=p2054897.l4275 I remember it because it was local to me, AND low miles. Here it is again-same ad. If I recall, it went for £4K+ at the time. Same colour as my old one, seemingly well maintained. So? What happened? Just when I was thinking of buying a cheaper-but twice the miles - car......
  9. Doc Marten are boots! With Lexus doing a Palm Beach (?) version of the SC430 in USA, I thought maybe a Doc Marten purple with red 'laces-like' highlights........ Too much idle time here......?
  10. +Spooks? Change the spelling to Doc Marten-and we could have to basis of a new Special edition?
  11. Looking at an LS with an air-con leak-supposedly a seal. I know this is a 'how long is a piece of string?' question, but, in general can seals or pipes be easily fixed? I was hoping my local Air-con man could fix this -he's away currently for advice.
  12. Enjoy your 300. I've posted this before, but....to make you smile (OK, it's a USA 400 but....)
  13. Noooo! Not those wheels! 18 inchers, maybe but..... ah well, each to their own. Green takes a good shine.
  14. Not sure about 'the market' demanding change. Perhaps you're right. When I think back to 70s/80s, etc, for example, Citroen DS; 1955 -75 with one update mid-stream. CX? 75 - 90, same thing. XM? 89 -2000. But Lex changed LS every.....3? Can't be cheap! Cars seem to be more 'throwaway' these days -well small ones, which are sold as designer wants. ...and Pete. I have a pristine Townshend Rock/Origin Live RB300/Denon 304 now unused (LPs sold) you can have....£850!
  15. 'Cheap' is that for a reason, I guess. I had same dilemma. after 2 LSs; Ser 3 + 4, I feel I don't want to repeat myself. 430? Not sure I like it. 460? Too much, and is it just more of same. But, no other cars are as good! So....SC430 for me? Hmm......
  16. Underseal our friend! You're right though. Welding is good idea-basic on older cars really. THIS vid got me very interested in this car Citroen CX Turbo.(which I test drove recently but decided against...) VERY thorough job-if you chase the following vids.
  17. LS 400's only flaw? It's been a regular topic on here. I never 'plipped' mine closed overnight which seemed to help. It's pity the lighter sockets aren't 'live' when parked as a plug-in trickle/solar charger would fix this. Fitting one to battery is possible but more fiddly. Older Audi A8s had a built-in trickle charger in the sunroof! Strangely the later ones didn't to the annoyance of a neighbour owner!
  18. Come on, car makers! Let us download our own chimes! Just imagine the fun we could have! Ride of the Valkyries booming out......
  19. Do you really keep the SC in one of those garages? (early pic) Must have to do a 'Dukes of Hazard' exit (over the back!!) Mine is similarly sized-could (just) fit a BMW 850 in, with tyre at end to protect front! Had to climb out of window though!
  20. Let's hope the SC fulfils your desires! I am in much same mind as you. Had 2 LSs; 3 + 4 Series. Now 3+1/2 years without, can't find anything that I like-so, maybe an SC might fit. (Going back for yet another LS seems a bit boring! Never liked to 'look' but DID like the quality) Wasn't really a fan of SC looks either, but it's growing on me. Add lpg.....would be cool! Now, to find one -Nov 05 -Mar 06 dates (6 speed but cheaper tax.....) Hen's teeth, I hear you say?
