  1. I tried using stuff you put in the tyres that automatically seal a puncture when you have one. But it seemed to upset the balance of the wheel, despite the fact it wasn't supposed to do so. I'd guess fitting a tyre on the roadside would be hard! It's hard enough on a bike, so getting a great big tyre over the rims might be a bit difficult? I guess it depends on how much boot room you need?
  2. Nah. Crack dealers black out the windows....and....a '93? Still....you DO live in Essex!
  3. WHO drives it ...tenant? I guess there's not much on TV, if you're watching this rubbish, but....hey, I believe there's Streaming now! Or these things called Books. (-:
  4. Trees are good for you....as in cutting stuff you don't want to breath in! BUT....they do have to grow, have flowers etc! One solution is to cover your car with vaseline/grease! Will end up looking awful, BUT.....tree stuff will come off easily! I once forgot to wipe off wax polish. Looked awful, but, come Spring, I had a lovely clean car-and it prevented any rust! You have to use solvent to remove sap otherwise; when it hardens, you CAN scrape it off BUT you might scratch the paint.
  5. Thanks, Adam and Michael. Was looking at a 2004 X Trail with it fitted. Whilst I'm sure the system might be working OK right now, it does seem that it might get messy in time, looking at comments on the lpg site. Pity-as the car in question looks OK.
  6. Thanks for the lpg references. Am looking at a 2004 Nissan X trail with the Stefanelli fitted.

I suppose I could hope that, if it's lasted this long it might go on being OK. Ever the optimist!

It's my  compromise - a biggish car but with 40+ equiv mpg. And reliable/rugged enough; no fancy computers to go wrong-well....less!

      You're welcome Chris.

And you're right, it's nice to run a big comfy motor for relative peanuts.

Hope it works out for you.

  7. Anyone had any experience of Stefanelli LPG set-ups? Not a name I'd heard before.
  8. Always knew Citroen 2CVs were easier to own! No such complexities! Amazed to read that you can set Steering electronically! (And mess it up equally, it seems!)
  9. My mention of Tony Bones.....IS 'Wheels in Motion'. Good thorough job (5%, tony, O.K.? (-:) )
  10. "Additional subs'! Mild understatement! I've seen the pics!
  11. A good battery seller should be able to test the CAPACITY of the battery. Mine does. (Bristol Batteries)
  12. Hooray! Pity they didn't ban him from using 'Lexuschap' as a monicker.
  13. Only to be used in places without 'Speed bumps'!! Or, thinking about it, not in UK, looking at state of roads generally in this 3rd world nation!
  14. My Micra (stop wincing!) has plastic headlamp covers fitted. I didn't think it was to prevent fogging! I thought it was to avoid stones. You live and learn?
  15. Nice (?) bronze SC 430 went last night on t'bay for low £4Ks, with 80ishK miles. Hard to hold back the finger!
  16. Tempting, but then I'd look at your pics and think.....bigger sound/ (I'm a big hi-fi fan)....comfort? Try the coil-overs..... Still, better than 'being the richest guy in the graveyard' as I was reminded the other day! Bought a NOS pair of 'Yoko' Porsche wraparound glasses immediately! Now; where's Pistonheads page.....?
  17. Was after a Celica last week.....better to get a spoiler and then add to an SC430! I guess your comments on drivers' lack of enthusism MIGHT be that most are +40/50? (I can say that-I am too!) So are happy to cruise in comfort. I was tempted recently, but I'm never sure if I could take to the compact cabin (in relation to an LS 400!) Nice work though! Does the wheel change/dropping make it a harder ride? It's a big thing to fly around lanes in! But I'm sure car folk will be envious in the wider world.
  18. Autotrader had a 99K mile Set 4 for sale, somewhere (Newport?) near you last week. (S441 JGM) that 'vanished'. Wish I could locate it!

  19. What's a Carbon clean? As in, getting carbon out of engine-or exhaust? Usually a good 80 mph blast is recommended, especially if mainly town use is standard. Here's me wondering if I should get another - for NON-town use!
  20. Yes. Sounded worth a look, especially so close. Though I DID think I'd decided to get something smaller, hence my recent tempter (Celica) but more likely Forfour Auto (Smart). But I have good memories of cruising in the LSs...... Steve; i recall all your work on the Celsior.
