  1. Aren't they charged an astronomical sum in road tax? Or is that just newer cars
  2. Shall we close this thread gents? this site is the main reason I bought an ls400 and has provided copious amounts of free information, to allow me to do things I would never have had the confidence to do; to the extent that I've then bought another to keep it company we all have a shared interest, and should remember that.
  3. I believe the term is "lexusraum" Mine are all on the road...albeit with cctv now
  4. this should sort the boot leak, my mk4 also has this, the boot stinks. I'll be doing the same thing at some point. There is guy called dan Merrin in derby/Notts who does wheel refurbs, more expensive than local shops, but he guarantees them for three years not one.
  5. My current key situation is one functioning key that opens closes and starts the car, but doesn't work remotely or appear to light up. Previous owner says he's changed the battery but I would have thought t would light up even if not sending a valid signal to the car? the second key is here...
  6. In hindsight looking on the German forums the expectation that a fault was present was normal. Rattling turbos, vanos issues, yet customers pay up i genuinely think that whilst they do tend to give a great driving "feel" I'm pleased to drive a lexus and don't want too many vag/Bm/mb drivers joining my club, and bribing a general lack of indication whilst turning and not filtering to allow traffic to flow smoothly...
  7. Surely it doesn't help that the cars just don't die like the German counterparts so the incentive to change after 3 years isn't as great?
  8. I was parked up collecting mine. One of the dads also said he'd seen yours burbling around! rather ironically my daughter has got hold of this unbeknownst to me...
  9. Indeed, all three of mine are truly indoctrinated in the way of the Lexus. The middle one actually commented on seeing Matts to her older sister when we picked her up from school!
  10. The baby on board is debatable... just passed me on roe lane, its looking very clean and tidy.
  11. Hopefully not! I did call them yesterday but they also need the master key there must be a third way...
  12. Does anyone know how you get a second key cut/coded if you only have one working key(of which the fob doesn't work/light up) and you don't have the master key? Can you just buy a. Lexus key and get it cut, which would at least open and close the car or would it need to have some coding to work? mk4 key (key with fob all in one)
  13. Isn't it dependent on colour? Dark=flush, red= change?
  14. I think you've got a bargain there if I had the cash I wouldn't have thought twice about that car
  15. Forgot to add if you want new mats I have a 10% discount card from my order with car mats 4u ive also got a shed load of sealants and waxes (hidden from the wife) if you want to try any before you buy
  16. Good Luck We'll probably be crossing paths around Newcastle in the near future! Remember to wave!
  17. bit pricey? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?make=LEXUS&model=LX&postcode=st58bd&radius=1501&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly New&onesearchad=New&search-target=usedcars&is-quick-search=true&quicksearch=true
  18. It's gone now i think with a little tlc and an nice polish this could double its money or cost it's owner double the purchase price
  19. I think that's probably the gamble, but possibly the seller just has too much to do being a new dad? its one thing a mechanic talking with authority but I wonder if they'd guarantee that that part would fix it looks lovely though
  20. no-one? http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/97-Mk1-Lexus-GS300-Sport-Cheap-Fix-or-Spares-Rare-Classic-/222428645055?hash=item33c9c7c6bf%3Ag%3AwscAAOSwax5YufoK&_trkparms=pageci%3Ad3abe40c-027b-11e7-9f3d-74dbd180b1b3%7Cparentrq%3Aa416f0fb15a0a6228f3b4e9afffd7847%7Ciid%3A1
  21. Long before the ls being on my list the gs300 sport was always a very nice looking car in my eyes ones come up for sale on eBay £400 but has an electrical fault which according to the seller needs a fix at £160 assuming that's true and looking at its mot history it looks like a pretty decent car any thoughts?
  22. Did you have to buy the pegs? Mine are missing
