  1. Sorry to hear that. This was Autogas in Tidington I presume. Maybe that light will go off on it's own, - I had similar - was trigged by the exhaust lambda sensor, - I had a garage turn it off (for free) the first time, - about 6 months later it came on again, i left it, and it went a week later. I think it was just hte car getting a bit confused with the lpg system/emissions
  2. How'd you get on with the LPG service?
  3. Got my new tyres, I went for "Michelin Primacy 3 245/45/R18 W (100) XL reinforced". I previously had Michelin Super Sport, which, were very quiet. Only on one particular, short part of the M25 motorway (between J9 -> J8) were they noisey, - almost like a "ringing" sound - strange. But whisper quiet everywhere else. Primacy 3s are very similar - again, whisper quiet.. very happy with them. If anything, I would say they're quieter, by a small tadge, - on the same horrible bit of M25 mentioned above, they are slightly quieter at similar speeds. So all in all - very, very happy with them - I would highly recommend them. Not cheap, ATS quoted me £800 for 4 (inclusive). I ordered them from Black Circles which cost me £570 for 4 (inclusive). Funny really, given that ATS own Black Circles, and it was ATS who fitted them.
  4. I had a better root around last night - it's defintely blowing heat onto the driver's feet... - just not as forceful as the passenger, - I would say about 50% of the blow the passenger gets.. maybe this is by design
  5. Congratulations! Mine recently failed!: 1 - On washer jets not working (they were frozen!!) 2- Rear middle passenger seat belt connector missing (it was tucked under the seat!) 3 - Battery not held in place properly (wasn't aware of this, just put a clamp on it) Now passed!
  6. Yes, I just rang up Lexus Guildford and he confirmed the same.
  7. On the passenger side there is a lovely big air vent coming out the lower centre console which *blasts* out warm air on my passengers coldy tootsies, - very nice in the minus degree weather we're currently experiencing... Driver's side: no such vent! Placing my hand around the driver's footwell, there's a *little* bit of warm air coming through... but not much. My feet are getting cold! :) I am continually impressed with the LS for so many reasons - so very surprised there is a lack of warm air on my toes! :D Is this normal, or is my car behaving sub par on the warm toes front?! :)
  8. Another relatively trivial one here. On the passenger side there is a lovely big air vent coming out the lower centre console which will blast out lovely warm air on my passengers coldy tootsies - lovely.
  9. I'll give the settings another go next time it's raining.... - for me, they were wiping too often (I like fairly relaxed, intermittent wiping frequency), but turning them down, even in light rain saw them wiping pretty much non stop... - i'll experiment further :)
  10. I understand that this Mist setting, on the windscreen wiper stalk, should be used to adjust the sensitivity of the Automatic wipers? I was having a fiddle with it the other day, and I didn't actually notice any difference from either of the 4 settings? Pretty trivial I know, - just wondered what other LS430 owners experiences were with this? :)
  11. So they are now taxing on emissions, age and now value... the list goes on! Well be thankful you don't live in Ireland.... tax here in the UK is relatively cheap
  12. Reminds me, I had an annoying little rattle which never happened with a passenger, - it sounded it like it was coming from the passenger seat.. I tried adjusting the passenger seat to no avail. Took me a few weeks to work out that it was the box you click the passenger seat belt into.... by simply rotating it slightly the rattling stopped!
  13. Wouldn't complain about being in the back seat in that, looks like a great way to travel :)
  14. I had a tiny creak around that area after fixing the multi fuction display unit, - I just gave it a bit of a push... - it was intermittent.. and the creak just disappeared on it's own in a short time. My biggest noise now is my keys rattling against each other. Such hardship.
  15. I have to agree with the OP. I would expect that it's an absolutely fantastic car to be in, but I don't think the exterior does the car justice. Comparisons to a Hyundai or Kia say it all. I'd also suggest that it's got a touch of "Mondeo" about it also. Bit of a shame really, maybe it looks better in the flesh. I also agree that they may have tried too hard. The grill and those wheels look a little too "busy". No full length sun roof either?
  16. "They" recommend servicing the LPG once a year, - is this frequency generally agreed upon? I understand that most of the service is just a general check. I am in Surrey and am going to need my LPG system serviced soon... and again, - have no idea where to go :)
  17. Can't argue with that,.... they're such a comfortable place to be... funny, I almost look forward to journey's now
  18. Good to hear positive feedback on Guildford Lexus. Glad to hear your 600 is sorted.
  19. I drove a friend's brand new BMW, M135i, - nice V6, twin turbo - brand new car, new car smell etc etc, - compared to my 12 year old dinosaur. Anyway, it was a lovely car to drive, very "nippy", obviously, - but again, I wouldn't swap it for my LS430, - which is a much, much nicer place to be, - so much smoother. If my air suspension failed, I wouldn't replace it with coilovers... I'd replace it with Air, - I love my air suspension, it's characteristic of the car
  20. I had similar lights.... the garage turned them off and said that it was the lambda sensor in the exhaust, - the light didn't come back for about 3 months.... - it came on again, - lasted about 5 days - went off on it's own after I filled it with petrol (so as above, - something to do with the petrol cap)
  21. Great to hear that sorted your problem Mark :) Tyre choice is hugely important on these cars from the many stories that I have read, (which is why I created this thread :) - the db ratings etc don't really mean much imho. I still haven't replaced mine, as there's still a bit of life in them, but if I had to tomorrow, I'd personally probably go for Michelin Primacys.. It would be very interesting at a meet to have a little drive in a few LS430s to see how each compare with different tyres
  22. I would highly recommend getting some Bojo tools, - makes removing stuff like that easy and very quick, with little risk of damaging anything. Too easy to cause damage with screwdrivers etc
  23. The 18"s do look a little more imposing, especially in motion, - but again, I would be interested to hear how much difference they make to the ride compared with the 17s. Tyres on the 18s will be more expensive also :)
