  1. Good choice of colour, Paul. Lexus Swindon sold me the same colour, too, with hazel interior. What colour seats did you go for?
  2. Welcome Paul, Lexus Parts Direct are very good. I’ve bought mats and dog guards from them. As for destinations, I usually rely on Apple CarPlay and use the voice command Hey Siri, get directions to…. I’ve not tried Hey Lexus, yet, but I imagine that would work too.
  3. Hi Alex, We traded in our Gen 4 RX Takumi earlier this year for a new NX 350h Premium Plus with Panoramic Roof. It's the full opening panoramic roof and visor, which is lovely. Glad we took the advice from the dealership about the spec - having had Takumi before, I was sceptical, but like you, I wanted the full pan roof, not a sunroof. There are only a few features I had to compromise on such as a standard rear view mirror, lack of auto park function and standard audio instead of Mark Levinson. But we are absolutely delighted with the NX - terrific car. Hope that helps.
  4. Earlier this year I changed my 2020 RX Takumi for a new NX 350h Premium Plus with Pan Roof. I, too, had some concerns beforehand, but I am so pleased with the NX and delighted that I made the switch. For us, it's the perfect size, quality, spec, performance - pretty much ticks all the boxes actually. It's a better size for us living in rural area, whereas the RX was just too big (although I miss the sound of that V6). As for performance, I don't notice any difference and it's just fine - plenty of power. My wife loves driving the NX more than any other car. Me too. Not sure if this helps - best of luck whatever you decide.
  5. Hello Dave, I bought my brand new NX from Lexus Swindon earlier this year, and they arranged everything, including transfer of private plates from the trade in car to the new one. I had informed them previously that I did not need the complimentary two day drive away insurance. When the car was ready to be collected I contacted my insurer and set up my own insurance for the new car. I would email and question them why they won’t provide you with the same level of service as other main dealers. Maybe also cc Lexus UK Customer Relations.
  6. Welcome Robin, you’ve chosen a lovely colour combination. I recently traded in my UX 250h Terrane Khaki and Hazel interior. Was tempted to go for the same when I ordered my new NX but the Sonic Titanium was in stock and readily available so went for that instead.
  7. I have been sent a paper questionnaire through the post from IPSOS on behalf of Lexus. It's a New Car Buyer Survey (NCBS) and is very detailed. I don't mind completing the NCBS, if it helps Lexus or future Lexus owners, but am always suspicious as to whether or not it is genuine. They obviously have my name and address and the make/model I bought this year. Any ideas? Many thanks.
  8. As with all hybrids, Elaine, it's advisable to put the car into 'Ready' mode (start the 'engine' basically) whenever you open the doors or sit waiting in the car, even for a few minutes. This will avoid the tiny 12V battery from being drained. It is only designed to start the onboard computer systems, and will drain quickly if you run any accessories from it. Whereas the traction battery will keep the 12V battery charged in Ready mode and will itself get topped up from the petrol motor. Forgive my non-technical explanation, but that's my understanding. Hope you get it sorted.
  9. There should be two documents to download: the main owner's manual plus a 356 page multimedia manual. Both should have been visible from the site when you downloaded the owner's manual.
  10. I bought a 24 reg NX350h Premium Plus & Pan Roof. It differs from the Takumi by many £000s and lacks the digital camera in the rear view mirror, has a standard audio instead of the ML setup and does not have the auto-parking function. But actually, I am very pleased with it and can manage just fine without these extra features.
  11. I had to replace 2 tyres due to uneven wear on my previous car which was a three year old Gen 4 RX 450h. Mileage was only around 12,000 miles. So yes, I would recommend it - was relatively cheap compared to the cost of the new tyre.
  12. Hi David, You can adjust the settings to unlock all doors when in P. I had a similar issue with my NX and my daughter felt very claustrophobic until I changed the default settings.
  13. Ha ha - he looks like quite a scamp! Lovely dog! The head rests on the rear seats plus the middle one would act as an effective dog guard fully extended or you could check Lexus Parts Direct and enter your model. They definitely do have divided dog guards for the RX and NX as I’ve had both. The divider effectively makes a cage. But not sure if they do a Lexus dog guard for the UX. The issue with an aftermarket cage is the steeply sloping rear door. I understand that you can have them custom made to fit any car - worth searching online. Have you spoken with the dealer? They might offer better advice - the service department certainly has all the dimensions.
  14. Hi Sophie, I hope you're enjoying the UX - I loved it. I traded it in this year for an LBX, so I am aware of the UX's boot size. Would it not be possible to simply allow the dog to sit on the rubber boot liner?
  15. Thanks - I learn something new every day!
