  1. Pretty sure that once this issue is sorted to your satisfaction you'll enjoy the car once again. Remember that it's one of the most reliable cars on the market and Lexus has an enviable reputation for customer service which you might want to mention they'll be anxious to keep 😉
  2. No, mine aren't diamond cut, the repairer made an assumption even though they had photos.
  3. Hi Ahmed Can of worms opened yet again.. It does sound like there's a drain on your battery. If you're driving it and it still goes flat then there's a problem. Have you tried the Lexus recommended method of leaving the car in Ready mode for an hour? The engine will start and stop during that time and it's best if you have nothing drawing power like A/C, radio, lights etc. If you've done all this and your battery is going flat within a few days then there's a bigger issue to be investigated.
  4. I have owned two MGA's a 1600 and a 1600 twin cam. Not Lexus related but I too owned an MGA, 1956 1500 in cardinal red, beautiful car. I won the grass track race at Beaulieu, gave it a wipe down then won the pride of ownership. It's the only car I've ever bought where I was interviewed to see if I was a suitable potential owner! I offered the asking price in cash in used notes and the money was pushed back to me over the table and I was told by the toff who was selling it not to be so vulgar. Two weeks later I was 'selected' to be the next owner subject to a list of conditions. I still miss that car!
  5. I contacted them and they gave me the £180 quote which was apparently for a full diamond cut refurb. Got a quote of £65 from a mobile repairer called Sweet Alloys based in Southampton whose work looks impressive. No Chips Away rep near me so now waiting to hear who Lexus Poole recommend plus there's another wheel specialist a few miles away. I'll update with pics when done, it may help someone else in the future.
  6. Just tried this and can confirm it works 👍
  7. I remember trying the same thing with the e-tech kit on my IS250, the sanding and filling is OK but the final colour is 'take it or leave it'. I guess they can't make a kit for every shade of wheel. Also they don't supply the primer which is an essential and they also say to use etching primer before the regular primer if you're spraying bare aluminium. Needless to say, I've got a lot of the kit left for other projects 🤣
  8. Yes I am, I've done a first aid repair which improves the look until I get it professionally sorted, it's not too late and an hours work is not wasting a lot of effort when I had nothing better to do on a sunny afternoon. Oh and I'm not 'stressing out', it's not something I do, I just want to look after my vehicle which had a list price of over £40k, pretty sure that's understandable. I'm not a concours man but I do take pride in my vehicles. All constructive recommendations will continue to be welcomed until the final repair (and it IS a repair) is done. I'm not really that interested in criticism or unconstructive opinions though. 😉
  9. Absolutely right, the aluminium is damaged and I've sanded it back to remove the rough edges. As a stop gap, I've reprofiled the rim using some Holts knifing putty that I had lying around, now sanded and primed but no idea how good it's going to look until I spray it tomorrow. I'll still probably go down the professional repair route and just waiting to hear back from Lexus Poole with their recommendations.
  10. I bought the wrong one a couple of years ago but the ebay seller changed it as soon as I realised my mistake. When I saw the work involved I had a local garage do the swap, totally worth it for £100. I did a video about the oil capacity I think which is critical. Link below:
  11. Looks good! My Bridgestones have that rim protector too but it didn't stop someone who was obviously determined..
  12. Which colour Alloygator did you go for? Any pics? Might be a good way to go, looks like the repair is ITRO £180! Very happy with some paintwork done by Chips Away on my IS250, unfortunately there's no longer an operative in my area, he was so good he's probably gone on to better things.
  13. Ha! I have exactly the same thing. I tend to go back after I've had a cup of tea and dry the thing again but wondering if a hair dryer on a warm only setting might do the trick. Next time I'll blow around the mirror with my air compressor and report back if it's any better. I guess it's just a slow release of what I've blasted in there using a jet washer which in hindsight can't be doing the innards much good!
  14. It was bound to happen. My wife has just told me that she's kerbed the car and damaged the front nearside wheel, pics below. The car is in otherwise immaculate condition and I've lavished time and effort to keep it that way so to say that I'm disappointed is an understatement. Can anyone recommend a top class repairer in the Hants/Dorset area? I'd much rather go on the say so of a Lexus owner than take the risk of finding one online. I think I'm right in saying that this wheel is only fitted to the IS300h Premier (18") and is a smoky silver grey colour which is quite unusual so will need someone who knows what he's doing when it comes to colour matching. Of course there's no spare so the car will be off the road while it's being done. Thanks in advance.
  15. Ah, thanks Texas. Had a look at my filter yesterday following the correct procedure just to check the condition. Couldn't see anything that would snag, catch or obstruct the filter, probably because I did it properly though!
  16. Does anyone know what physically happens to prevent the filter removal if not in recirc mode? Which bit actually breaks? Just curious.
